There is no god, at least not the kind your primitive tribal religion teaches. And, I don't need aliens to tell me that. If religion falls, as I hope it does, it will be because people have awakened to a much brighter, better future than what the eons-old silly crap has offered. I don't think a penalty would even be needed, the vast majority of people coming across this new revelation would be so awestruck, the minority of people who can see through the bullshit would be negligible.
