No, he hasn't had a chip implanted. I don't feed him table scraps, he eats Bakers Dry Complete dog food. I trust the dog food that he has always eaten. I had a Rough Collie before I had Max, and she was fed the same dog food, and lived for nearly seventeen and a half years, which is an excellent lifespan for a dog. The only thing which I suspect is that it could have something to do with his annual vaccinations and there could be link.

No, but he does get regularly showered, he doesn't like the bath. I use tea tree shampoo and conditioner for his coat. He is groomed everyday using an electric flea grooming comb rather than using pesticide on his coat.

I don't think there are a disproportional amount of dogs getting cancer compared to humans. Unfortunately just like humans some dogs will get it and some will get it younger than others. Diet is what usually causes cancer. My mother has been feeding her dogs Pedigree forever and they all die of cancer within ten years. All of them were dobermans. I've tried to point that out to her but . . .

It is pet food, and vaccines..not all vets look at it as a way to make money though. Many are changing recommendations for frequency of vaccine. It would be nice to be able to just use nosodes..but until you have stayed up for a week straight trying to save a hospital full of parvo dogs, don't completely rule out some vaccination.

The foods are horrible, whether it is gmo cereals, rendered meat products, or just the processing requiring high heat and extrusion and denaturing proteins, killing all beneficial bacteria, and destroying helpful enzymes in 'living' food.

Breeding and environmental pathogens/toxins are also issues now. I absolutely HATE febreze and a few other cleaning/deodorizing products and would not put them near a pet or human for anything.

Gotta feed pets expensive hi-grade food, or you will just wind up with vet bills anyway.

I have also heard that the plastic dog houses - igloos - cause tumors.

I was told that by someone and tended to believe it because my neighbor had two hunting dogs, both with tumors, that slept in igloos. But don't know for sure.

And Mad Cow diseased animals.

When I was a kid dogs NEVER used to get cancer.

It was unheard of.

The present epidemic of canine cancer is the result of lazy and stupid owners taking the easy way out and feeding their dogs "pet food", though I imagine vaccines probably have something to do with it too.

Vaccines tend to cause the very ailment they are intended to prevent, but much later in the animal's life.
