"27As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, "Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you."

28He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

Mary did hear the word of God, and did obey it. In context I do not believe he is rebuking Mary, but on the contrary he is in fact praising her.

No He did not rebuke Mary, he rebuked the person who was exalting her.

I am not sure about that, I also am not sure about the translation. When the angle came to Mary, It was clear that she found favor with God. If I remember correctly Elizabeth said blessed are you or you are also blessed.
Please understand that I am not trying to contradict what Christ said, only that the translation may be off, because in context, and with everything else written about Mary, it does not fit.

What other stuff written by about Mary are you referring to?

He was rebuking the exaltation of His mother...it's not that unclear. Nobody is denying that Mary was Godly woman, she had to have been if The Father chose her to bring Messiah into the world. But, being a Godly person, doesn't make you a deity. That is "serpent language."

RCC makes Mary a deity...and that is blasphemy, idolatry, and just plain wrong.

That's what we are disputing here, so let us stay on track.

Good to see you getting down to brass tax here. Catholics claim to pray to Christ through intercessions from Mary. Non Catholics say that they pray to Mary. In the rosary we say "holy Mary mother of God pray for us sinners now and in the hour of our death. Amen." Clearly if we were praying to Mary we would not be asking Mary to pray FOR us. Non Catholics will always throw this false accusation at us, and that is alright. If you wish to call me a liar, so be it. Let's hope for the accusers, that old testament law does not apply.

I have posted plenty of examples where jpII prayed TO Mary, and not only did he pray TO her, he entrusted HER with the world and all its peoples and all its doings.

Let's say for a minute he did. He would have been wrong. It is not the doctrine of the church. Can you agree to this?
