LOL, well glad to be of help there.

They weren't that good for me, no bonfires or anything, and it wasn't rural, it was in middle class suburb.

The only good that came out of it was in spite of family problems, some of their kids who I was friends with turned out pretty well and I remain friends with them to this day.

Just goes to show that kids don't always become like their parents.

OP, that is exactly what our Section 8 (government welfare housing) looks like. But they're black. You described them to the tee. Same kind of people, just different color.

German Shepherd Dogs are NOT 'mean' dogs.

I rescued an adult GSD from a bunch of assholes who'd kept her in a 5 by 5 pen filled with her own feces. She'd had zero socialization, no training, nothing -- and from the moment I took her out of that cage and put her in the front seat of my truck with me, she was my best friend and a sweet, smart, kind companion.

Not a mean bone in her. I still miss her, but man we had some good times.

So don't blame the dog for the behavior of the people, please. Thanks.

Sometimes such families randomly produce successful children.

These kids grow up to be professional and raise their own kids without the drama and addiction and poverty, while still maintaining love and compassion for their own family back in the trailer park or up the hollow.

A person like this might feel sad or frustrated reading a post like the OP. Everyone knows what "white trash" is. The problem is how to break the cycle of addiction and poverty.

Maybe I'm hyper-sensitive, but it seems like the era of "might be a redneck" jokes and redneck weddings and trick my trailer bs has had nothing but a deleterious affect on the people who are the subjects of such "humor".

Not blaming the dog, actually no breed of dog, even pit bulls, are 'mean'. They are always made that way by their owners.

OP, you have completely described the rural Arizona town I live in. Your observations are accurate. Almost every one's property is a mini junk yard.

Well, the white trash themselves that I refer to are openly racist against blacks, so I figure it probably wouldn't be a big deal to call them white trash since they accept the premise to begin with. Unless they can dish it out but can't take it.

Had neighbors like that their kids would find any reason to come to my house. Once they came with pillows and a small bag of clothes, I asked if they got their parents OK. About that time their drunken mother put her fist into the windshield of there 1980's ragged-out mini van. Dad was inside trying to escape. I said never mind, come in.
Cops show up and the whole neighborhood is looking out of the blinds. Their Kids played video games and watched TV, did not want to check. Funny police never came to check on the kids. They stayed the whole weekend.

No one held a gun to these people's heads and made them act like they did. It was all completely consensual, and if they wanted to change they could have.

Hell, even their kids didn't act like that, and some of them turned out pretty OK.

They behaved like that because they wanted to. They ENJOYED fighting in the fucking street in the middle of the night. They thought it was cool. And when I pointed out to them that it was stupid, all of the sudden I was the bad guy.

These people were WHITE TRASH just as there are black trash and asian trash. As you stated all ethnic groups have trash.

Yeah, I've been through white trash neighborhoods and I've been through black neighborhoods. How come the black neighborhoods are always littered with trash? Has anyone else noticed that? You can always tell where you're at in a city by the amount of trash laying around. In other words, when you start seeing an excess of trash, turn around!
