Problem for Europe is not just a cold but the fact that infrastructure was not build for cold winters.
For example: most water pipes in England are almost on the surface (in Russia they are buried at 4-5 feet)

If cold winter really happens, and ground freezes deeper than pipes are - pipes will burst. That would be really disaster - no running water anywhere and no cheap and easy way to fix it.

Honestly, animals weren't on my agenda or thoughts. I do suppose if a full on ice age hit Europe and Russia...many species would be eliminated. Since we know that people did not cause global warming, (BP may have caused this decrease in the stream though), We still have to allow for nature to take it's course. That's exactly why we have some species today we didn't have a thousand years ago, and why there were some species a thousand years ago that we don't have now.

Truthfully...I think one of the reasons I didn't think about animals is because I've seen FAR too many committees and boards and such that are working like mad to build money and spend billions on saving the animals...while our children can't read when they hit the 5th grade, when our veterans returning from war are forced onto the streets, when our sick and hungry are not cared for because the money is being used to save the moneky's in China.

I love animals, I really do. BUT...the main focus should be on saving the people...should it not?

If the cold snap is fast, we probably won't see an animal migration. If it's slow we "might" see one...but, the changing magnetic pole shifts and everything else seem to be really effecting animals recently. I just saw a flock of geese flying north east this weekend, STRAIGHT into a lightning storm! It was really funny cause the flew that way...about an hour later they flew back! BUT...they were missing about 20 birds! Not funny hahaha, but...curious. makes you wonder what may have happened! If the birds are confused, there's no telling what the land animals may be experiencing.

Russia has a lot of forests. A lot of people probably burn wood. Europe is a different story. Too much immigration and cities built over forests. European countries are small. Russia is huge.

It'll be ok down here in southern Spain. We're only 9 miles of the North African coast. There's also the other med countries so I doubt you need worry about lots of northern Europeans moving to the USA.

We don't have central heating down here, in southern Spain. We just have log fires in December, January and February. We chop our own wood and yes, there's plenty of it. It's not a concrete jungle all over Europe.
