Famous brands of Indonesian instant ramen noodles like Mi Goreng Indomie are banned in Taiwan because these noodles contain hazardous chemical preservatives methyl p-hydroxybenzoate and benzoic acid. These chemicals are not supposed to be used on food products.

Taiwan Health Department banned these products also banned Indonesian sweet soy sauce from the same brand. If a person consumed these products on a regular basis, it will result in kidney failure.
