Anonymous Coward User ID: 919411 United States 10/12/2010 03:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Louisville, KY thanks you for the information. Those in Louisville and throughout Western Kentucky felt the New Madrid 8.0 plus magnitude quakes of 1811 and 1812 very very well. Thus, I have been watching the seismic activity out of Guy, Arkansas very closely. I think the New Madrid fault is getting ready to slip and badly. I feel the ground rolling underneath my house these days several times a day almost every day. It is very noticeable and there is usually nothing noted on the USGS when I check. Alot of quakes are simply not being reported by the USGS to the public. This lack of reporting is probably being done to quell massive panic. That doesn't make it "right". The USGS doesn't have the right to suppress information like that. People need to know so they can prepare by stocking up on provisions and water. People also need to be able to mentally prepare themselves so when "the big one" does happen, they don't snap. |

BloodRed (OP) User ID: 1033557 United States 10/12/2010 04:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ~ Thanks, y'all, for sharing! ~ I've been wanting to share this with people... it's nothing scientific, or verifiable with photos, etc. but it's what I've come to realize could be personal observations and indications that something is... not quite right. Or, of course, it could be nothing, or attributable to other factors. Nevertheless, I'm going to share it now (PLEASE skip if you bore easily LOL!!)... ~ I was away from the internet this weekend, traveling through NC and SC, and only just saw all the activity in Arkansas today over on the other threads. Ever since I got back late Sunday evening, here in Knoxville, I didn't have my usual 'ah, it's soooooooooo good to be home!' feeling that I get when I come back. Nothing was wrong, it was just a vague feeling. I chalked it up to hours of driving. I turned on the internet, to jump on GLP to see what I had been missing. ~ For the very first time, I got a black screen that said something like my power source was 'jacked in' incorrectly (can't remember the exact message, I'll write it down the next time I power down/power up) and had to hit F1 to continue. I thought nothing of it. Until I noticed several 30 second long shutdowns of the cable box for the TV throughout the evening and into the morning. Still thought nothing of it. I did notice that ALL of my lights in the house were almost imperceptibly dimmer, though. STILL thought nothing of it. I fed and walked the dogs, who seemed a little rambunctious, as if there was the scent of another dog in the air or something. Nothing too unusual, though, as there's raccoons and possum and kitties galore around my neighborhood here. Got them back in for the night. Fed the kitties, who were their usual lazy-assed selves and sleeping. Then, I ate something, even though I wasn't hungry, kinda had to force myself (this girl NEVER has to do that, lol... this time of year my Scandinavian genes seem to want to put on winter weight, especially on my hips LOL...) and it was then that I noticed that chewing the food gave me a headache. Then as I ate, my ears began to pop, as if there were pressure changes. I put some raw garlic in the food, just in case I 'rubbed elbows' with a bug somewhere this weekend, and again, didn't think much of it. But I did notice that my teeth, and my gums, and my jaw was sore, after I ate. Odd, but not 'supernatural', by any stretch of the imagination. ~ Soooooooo I stepped outside for a final smoke before bed. When I first stepped out, I could swear that I saw what looked like a 'sky-wide' flash, not blinding at all, but kinda like heat lightning does from far away. But it illuminated about a 1/3 of the sky for a split second. I saw that there were no clouds WHATSOEVER in the sky, so I chalked that up to eyes adjusting to the outside, after looking at the laptop screen. After a couple minutes, it happened again, but from the OTHER side of sky. Again, I thought nothing of it, really. But I do remember someone saying something here once about geo-magnetic storms. As I was stepping in I heard a kind of boom, and instantly thought, 'Ah, it IS heat lightning', but it was more like the boom of a dump-truck unloading it's bed, a good distance away, which quite honestly, it could have been, I guess, even though it was somewhere around 3 or 3:30 in the morning. Again, because I was tired, and feeling sore-ish and a little agitated, even bitchy (chalked THAT one up to reading a few threads here on GLP lol), I really didn't pay it much mind. Took a multivitamin, brushed my teeth (painful), and started to tuck into bed. ~ I tossed and turned, even though I was tired, for what must have been about 30 minutes. My bed is like a cloud, and I love it, but I just couldn't get comfy, it was like a strange bed, and any way that I laid on it, it made me feel sore. Eventually, though, I drifted off to sleep. ~ I awoke with a jolt, one of those 'walking on thin ice pre-dreams', for lack of a better term I guess, and that's happened to me in the past. BUT: this is when one of my cats, who is 18 years old, and deaf as well, kicked up a SERIOUS fuss. She was yowling, and 'squacking', I will call it, and because she's deaf, she was REALLY loud! She's NEVER like that! The way she was carrying on, I thought that she had hurt herself or something, or maybe had a nightmare, so I brought her in with me. She was VERY happy to be with me, and wouldn't leave me be for like 15 minutes. Uncharacteristically affectionate. The other cat was up and about, I assumed the older cat's agitation had woken her. The dogs were also up, and similarly, I thought that the old gal's plaintive yowling had upset them. So, after awhile, she calmed down again, and we went to sleep. ~ We, or at least I, eventually fell back asleep. But twice more during the night, she woke me up with her loud yowling. I was worried about her, being old and all, but when I spent time petting her and holding her, she calmed down, so it didn't seem like she was injured or ill. ~ I didn't sleep well. My day kind of sucked. My hours at work were cut today, everyone's were, and everyone was in a bad mood, and so was I. Almost everyone I talked to today complained of being congested, and sore, and one co-worker said she was up all night with nose-bleeds. Could be change of seasons, allergies, I don't know. ~ It's just that the more that I think about it, the more I began to think that maybe, just maybe, these were tiny indicators of something much bigger than merely unrelated randomnesses. ~ Again, I don't mean to bore anyone, or to go on and on, and it could all be nothing, but I just thought I would share what my day was like, in case anyone else had experienced anything similar. Right now, the dogs and cats are sleeping like logs, and I'm soon to turn in. A bit of a headache (drank water, taken advil, still there, though...) and some slight body aches, and my ears just popped again, but I'm tired and looking forward to some dreamless, uneventful sleep. ESPECIALLY after last night! ~ Y'all Are CrAzY Doom Tards!! But I love y'all anyway... well, not the shills, not so much... ~ ~ Wanna know what we're all here for? Animals do that, especially old deaf ones, I SIT UP AND LISTEN! Revelation 1:7 "Behold, He comes with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen." Zechariah 12:10 "And I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look on Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn." |
