No Aldis in the area I'm currently living to speak of.

In FL we had Aldi, Sav-A-Lot, and Price Buster's.

Aldi was probably the least sketchy.

Never heard of those, guess you aren't in Miami.

Treasure Island is okay. Good beaches in the area. Mad beach is a fun spot. Lots of tourists. I'm not sure what the market looks like at the moment but nothing is ever cheap there.

Store brand, coupons, sales prices...don't pay $4 for a box.
 Quoting: Faith

The store I shop at will actually give you five cents off is you stand on your head, wistle Dixie, take a flu shot, and flick your buggers in a jar - all at once of course. However people with a life usually just pay the extra nickle.

That's high. The all natural organic PBs aren't that expensive here. 28 oz. of JIF was was $3.49 last time I went to the store.
 Quoting: unknown 1020518

$3.49 is a lot of money for a 79 cent jar of paste.

Have to admit steak-umms really aren't that great. Good sandwich steak meat is %100 chopped ribeye. It does have a high fat content though. That's what makes it so good.

Some fat....OK....like 10-15%.....and that's makes for "Good Eats".

...but 64% FAT???

Would you eat a burger composed of 64% FAT content???

yak

Honestly, probably not. I buy the super lean, or second leanest ground beef at the super market.

I will occasionally have BK though. No Mickey D's.
 Quoting: unknown 1020518

BK burgers are bad for you.
You think that FLAME BROILED TASTE is from actual flame broiling?? smlaugh
(Hint: artificial flavors)

If you must eat fast food....Wendy's is best for being "REAL FOOD"....or maybe Taco Bell.
There may be others....but they certainly AREN'T Burger Krap and McPukes.

damned

Veggies, fruits, beans and local meat/fish are still a good value. Stop eating processed over packaged garbage and your life will dramatically improve.

Our grocery store had Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies - medium size box for $4.29. Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil is over $9.00 for 200 sq. ft. I saw it a smaller grocery store for over $11.00. That just kills me.

Now this is real doom. Food prices rising is a real catastrophe not all the UFO b.s. that is being pinned right now.

Ritz crackers is borderline food. You don't need them to live. All other supermarket food prices are still fairly inexpensive.

almost there.....

a gallon of skim and Organic milk at my local store (Super Target) is over $5.50....I know it costs more but I'd rather pay it than go for that "el cheapo" milk at Walmart just because the price is low...but honestly...when I checked for organic and skim milk there, it was over $3 bucks....so go figure

Sure, no problem, those of us who live paycheck to paycheck will spend $8.00 to $10.00 for "organic" beef.

We'll also jump on that $4.00 per pound carrot bunch too!

Kiss my ass. You best hope and pray that your food will be pristine when TSHTF you elitist prick.

Considering that I worked there as a kid and actually sent the burger through the broiler, yes I do believe they are flame broiled. Unless things have changed I would imagine they still do this. Their frozen burger patties were the same as most any other restaurant I have worked in.

Taco Bell's meat on the other hand came precooked in a bag frozen. The bag was boiled in a pot of water and then put on the line. That may have changed too, but I doubt it.
