lulz, gotta love OEM software...
crack it, problem solved. What did you pay for the WIndows? If more than 30$, give it back.

Use windows 7 loader (google it) (torrent/irc/p2p). You can activate your win7 and install the serial # you have. Its a backdoor way of doing it, but:

1. windows 7 will be activated
2. you will be using a s/n you actually paid for.

just thought i'd do the 'right' thing

will think again next fucking time.

It's OK, we all learn.

There's some good advice in this thread if you still want to crack the key. Remove WAT is excellent, removes the key allowing you to use 7 permanently. Otherwise, if you want to do it the right way, you're going to have to jump through hoops. Up to you.

that Remove Wat has been fucked by the latest WU apparantley

Re: any computer experts on?
I've got an old laptop that had Vista on, so decided to upgrade it to Windows 7 and give it to my daughter.

Things went well, until i tried to activate the shite. I bought the software online from an OEM site, but bought the FULL version instead of an upgrade version. why that should make ANY difference at all I don't know, but I think that is why it won't accept the code that came with the software bundle.

I have 4 reloads of the 30 day trial left, so I'm OK for 150 days, but I want it to last MUCH longer than that hopefully.

I found an old vista key using a keyfinder program, and managed to delete it from the registry, but it's still not letting me activate the shite even though that key isn't in the registry any more.

any ideas?

Oh, and Gates, die you Mother Fucker! jerkit

any help would be appreciated.

you're gonna tell me i have to do a clean install, aren't you? suicide

lol

please, someone come up with a nifty way around this shit.

I've sent tickets to the online company requesting help, but they have my money now, don't they? probably won't hear another world from them. chuckle

Let me explain it to you.

When you have a previous operating system on the computer you use an "upgrade" to load the next gen OS.

When you don't or if you have removed all your important data from your laptop, you destroy the partition(s) and create new one(s) in the new OS. You then can load the "full version" of the OS.

NO, you can not use a full version to do an upgrade as well as not using an upgrade on a blank drive.

In your case as you described it, you need to remove all data you want from the hard drive and formate the hard drive and then load your full version OS.

Side note, if it is a really old laptop, check if it meets hardware requirements for win 7.

BTW, once you complete this , go to the manufactures website and see if they have win 7 drivers for your laptop, if so download and install them.
