FDA, GMO and hello Frankenfish

The FDA recently ruled that manufacturers and food suppliers are not allowed to label foods as GM or GM-free (GM=genetically modified). They claim that consumers will be confused by the labels. A recent GM food, the new Atlantic salmon or "frankenfish", is a genetic mixture of eel pout and Chinook salmon. It will not be allowed to carry the GM label as it has been found to not be materially different from regular salmon! It seems that the FDA is really worried that you may not be confused ENOUGH if the foods are labeled. Thanks to the FDA, you may never know what you're REALLY eating.
