Divorce is the number one reason for bankruptcy. Before I got divorced over five years ago we it going on financially both having good paying jobs. After the divorce, trying to maintain two homes we could not sell (due to the market) have left us a much lower lifestyle. Money is not everything, but it sure helps so expect to be poorer.
