The whole facebook, Christie, Booker, Oprah thing seemed really fishy and I don't like it. There's thinking out of the box and then there's circumventing the proper channels. I don't get how Booker is supposed to be in charge of the schools.

I heard today he was hiring the lady who took over the DC schools with such success to replace Schundler.

That's a good move, but I need more information on race-to-the-top-gate. I suspect they included the wrong the numbers to make it look better on us and it wasn't a mistake. But maybe I'm just overly suspicious.

The lines at gas stations are always a great time when you have the slow as dirt foreigners taking their sweet ass time to pump for you.

I know a lot of people who live in PA and work in Jersey, because the property taxes are too damn high.

Car insurance... don't even mention it.

Parkway/Turnpike... screw that.

And the state is right next to Staten Island.................

And the rent is too damn high.


New Jersey does have Wawa though.

Wawa is the best convenience store ever, but I digress ...

Anyone notice the private road crews all over the place? When did this happen?

I left in 1999 and came back in 2009, and I don't remember the ragamuffin road crews from before.

I suspect this is why so many businesses are "cash only/atm inside" which is aggravating to say the least.

Yeah, there are always reggae bands playing alongside while other workers fix up the roads.

What I hate is driving on the Parkway/Turnpike, because if your car breaks down, you can't have just any tow truck come out and get you, you have to get a tow truck with a specific license and then you have to pay him a fee just to get it OFF a turnpike and then the normal fee.

Damn you Parkway/Turnpike.

Christie showed up in 2008 for a Puerto Rican festival in Perth Amboy and it was hilarious... like a fish out of water, but at least he tried to dance.

Oh yeah... "Cash Only" businesses are ALL over. I thought it was because some of these places were behind the times... they're not.

That's another good thing about NJ ...

Christie is a godsent. This state is so corrupt. Christie killed the big tunnel to NYC and all the unions and senators are against him. He did the right thing. They cried that NJ already spent $600 mil on the hole and we should continue. Christie said sasting $600 mil is better than throwing another $3.7 bil from taxpayers down that hole. Christie is doing the right thing. He's forcing other people to cough up the money to finish this hole in the ground. Senator Lautenberg is talking about getting private finances to complete the job. They should have done that in the beginning. Corzine got us into this mess. Thank God his ass is gone. Other than that, NJ is just honky dory.

It seems like he is sticking it to the ones who are corrupt ... if we found out that he knew that we submitted the wrong numbers for race to the top in a stupid attempt to cheat, I'd be disappointed.

irish festival in Wildwood is the best... again I do not consider the sourther beaches part of NJ. they just happen to have been in the wrong spot at the wrong time when this state was formed.

this state fucking blows. I can not stress enough how much this state blows. its beyond the definition of blows to be honest.

the roads are so over crowded, its beyond insane.

Far South Jersey doesn't have the congestion issues. I'm talking southern Cumberland, Salem and Cape May counties.

my family is from and lives in southern nj. I live in central/north for the past 2 1/2 years.

None of my school friends' parents spoke English - but none spoke the same language either.

They were Greek, Ukranian, Puerto Rican, Italian, Indian.

I thought it was great!

I remember the culture shock when I moved to South Orange to go to college.

It sucked, and everyone talked funny!

I'm from the island of Puerto Rico, but it's okay, I don't take offense to the West Side Story comments.

I loved moving from there to here in 2008. Monmouth County is a great place.

He has made the right budget decisions to keep the State afloat. Don't know if he supports the constitution or not. Better than a "progressive" aka commie.

I noticed that 2nd Amendment advocates are more vocal lately (on NJN and whatnot). I think they are hoping that he will support relaxing the laws. I hope he does. We'll see.

I just moved to Farhills from Manhattan. So far like the state, property taxes are a little on the high side but I bought knowing that so no big deal.
