Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1134269Maybe she's talking to Capt Kirks on the Starship Enterprise? |
Just A Thought User ID: 1116457 United States 10/22/2010 10:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The person isnt holding it like it is a cell phone. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1134269It looks to me like they are holding it like a compress, maybe for a tooth ache. you crack me up whilst talking to herself? You cant prove she is actually talking, only that her mouth opens. Even when Clarke mimics the way she is holding the "object" with his own cell phone it is awkward. And that is Mr. Dumbass to you. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1133673 United States 10/22/2010 10:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Awesome, but who could they be talking to? And How would the phone work? It appears that way, but the woman could be holding her head from a headache Quoting: Anonymous Coward 660580It DOES look like a man in drag, and he is obviously holding a what appears to be a flat device. It could be a high grade walkie talkie. He could be talking to a buddy and say "man, can you believe we are here? to F'n cool dude. GOD these shoes are killing me " whataya think? :) |

Perhaps he was someone well-known to people in Hollywood. Only he does not want to make it look obvious that he is covering his face in order not to attract attention. So he pretends he is touching his hair, spreading and curling his fingers. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 642285 United States 10/22/2010 11:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have seen hearing aids from the 1940's that had a separate box - usually chrome/silver in color - that were about the size of a large cellphone today. They connected by wires to an earpiece worn on/in the persons ear. These were very early Hearing Aids and were usually worn with the chrome box in a pocket and the wire up to the ear piece. I wonder if it could have been something of that type/variety? The gesture for the time would have been strange. Today the same gesture and movement is commonplace, of course. Interesting! |

When I first watched the video- I thought it was a two-way radio- that would be more plausible than going back in time and launching a communications satellite. However now -a-days, we use an ear piece with a thumb mic for the long range units- so why would anyone from the future, use it, unless the traveler was from the early 1990's before the smaller family band personal radios were invented? Radio engineer Alfred J. Gross also worked on the early technology behind the walkie-talkie between 1934 and 1941, and is sometimes credited with inventing it. [link to en.wikipedia.org] |

She would stop, find the source and turn to that direction. When she spots the camera she smiles. |

I am saying that the video was from 1928 and personal radio communications were not even an idea until 1934 and not marketed to the military until years later and they were huge units. So my theory is that if it is a time traveler, then they are from our past (80's or early 90's) not our future.. Why the Shill alert? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 786793 United States 10/22/2010 11:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 1. The guy plays an old magic trick. He tells you what you are going to see before you see it. Power of suggestion. If he was really interested in knowing what you think, he would not tell you what you will see/think. 2. You cannot say she is talking. There is no sound. Her mouth appears to be moving. She may be talking but there are many reasons why someone's mouth moves. 3. Is there something in her hand? I dont know. The images are not clear enough. Even if there is something in her hand you surely cannot say it is a device. 4. Her hand is not positioned they way a normal person grasps a cell phone while it is in use. 5. Whether it is a man or a woman is irrelevant. Irrelevant data used to cloud the issue. 6. The surprised look on her face. So what? You would be surprised too if you realized someone was filming you. |
