how could he be on a mobile phone in 1928 when there is no infastructure no cell towers no satellites absoultuely no service provider and absoulutely no computer infastrucutre to support its operation.

dont you think it would be more sensible for that to be a women whos married to a government official- and had some super hitek technology. lord knows they are at least 40 years ahead of the public.

I RIGHT,A HEARING AID THAT TALKS BACK,DO NOT THINK SO.

A middle-aged closet TV who is trying to cover his face so that he won't be recognized when the film preview gets shown in cinemas. Perhaps he was someone well-known to people in Hollywood.

Only he does not want to make it look obvious that he is covering his face in order not to attract attention. So he pretends he is touching his hair, spreading and curling his fingers.

It DOES look like a man in drag, and he is obviously holding a what appears to be a flat device. It could be a high grade walkie talkie. He could be talking to a buddy and say "man, can you believe we are here? to F'n cool dude. GOD these shoes are killing me " whataya think? :)

I have seen hearing aids from the 1940's that had a separate box - usually chrome/silver in color - that were about the size of a large cellphone today. They connected by wires to an earpiece worn on/in the persons ear. These were very early Hearing Aids and were usually worn with the chrome box in a pocket and the wire up to the ear piece. I wonder if it could have been something of that type/variety?

The gesture for the time would have been strange. Today the same gesture and movement is commonplace, of course.

I agree. When I first watched the video- I thought it was a two-way radio- that would be more plausible than going back in time and launching a communications satellite. However now -a-days, we use an ear piece with a thumb mic for the long range units- so why would anyone from the future, use it, unless the traveler was from the early 1990's before the smaller family band personal radios were invented?

Radio engineer Alfred J. Gross also worked on the early technology behind the walkie-talkie between 1934 and 1941, and is sometimes credited with inventing it.

If you Google hearing aids circa1900s., pictures, many of the contraptions have to be held to the ear just like a cell phone.

Appears as if he is talking probably to.test or clearing a loogie.
