If your mr./ms. sweet tooth which got you a bit overweight, after the standard diet/exercise/rest implimentation, there's the food portion control thing.

Have at the START of each small, portion controlled meal in the ready a pack of low calorie or sugar free gum. Instantly upon SLOWLY finishing your meal, throw in a couple sticks of gum to short-circuit the continued feeding frenzy feeling.

It takes about 20 minutes for the food you ingested to tell the brain your done eating and need no more. By that time most people have continued with 2 or more times the calorie count they need.

Ya, ya, evil substitute sugar or 5 calorie sorbitol, whatever. This lesser of evils could save you hundreds or thousands of calories a day. No more guilt from over eating or regret for not satisfying your hunger lust.
