The Junk Bond King single handedly created the financing that allowed a LOT of small new technology companies a way to have access to hundreds of millions of dollars EACH for pushing their technology forward. Michael Milken wasn't just into "junk bonds" ... he was into high tech. The way he worked his deals was he basically FORCED his investors to take stakes in companies that they had absolutley NO interest in, in the high tech or new technology field, in order to be allowed to buy into the deals that they knew were going to be very very profitable. Michael Milken provided the follow on financing for those high risk, high technology companies that was needed to commercialize the products that the risk investors had just developed (the follow on financing tended to require additional investments on the order of magnitude of 10x to 100x of what had already been invested during the start up phase). Michael Milken will probably never get the recognition he deserves for driving US technology forward ... after all he made too much money and was thus prosecuted because he HAD TO BE A BAD MAN to have made that much money. The unsung hero of the high tech boom ... Michael Milken. |

The unsung hero of the high tech boom ... Michael Milken. Yes Milken was smart about foreseeing where the money would grow, but without Ivan Boesky, he would not have gotten the leverage necessary to make sizable movements. Greed is good for Technological growth. Technological growth is good for only a few corrupt/greedy at the top. |

Each technological leap is built upon the ones preceding. It takes time to develop the new tech into useful products we see. Eventually a saturation point is reached where we have all of new toys we can handle. The next leap is usually garnered in by new understandings of science, i.e. chemistry, physics, materials science etc... To say that ET's had anything to do with our advancement is an insult to all those who worked so diligently all of their careers. There are / were tens of thousands of people working over the past century or two to bring us a better world. Your biggest error is not realizing just how stupid and insignificant you really are. |

All the cool stuff were invented during the 80's Quoting: JVC 1139066[link to news.bookweb.org] However this makes me think. All those inventions couldn't have just appeared overnight or 2-5 years. Technologies takes many years of slow trial and errors in order to be successful. The only explanation I think is that the government have been keeping all these technologies from public knowledge for at least 50-100 years. And looky who was the president of the US during that time? From this graph alone I would make an assumption that President Reagan was trying to help and share to the people all technologies they have discovered many many decades ago. But after the Bush takes over, technology were slow again. All that is happening today are just modified of the old technology. Every week we see new version of cellphones coming out, but those are really old technology being dressed up as new. Why? To make more money and to make people dumber I guess. Wow you can learn so much from this graph. All the important communition technologies were suddenly "invented" during wars. Was this just a coincidence or something more is going on. Makes me think, if WW3 were to happen in the next few months or years, what new technology would just "suddenly" appeared? UFO? Time travelling? Or maybe even teleportal. This graph too point to the fact that new generation of people are not becoming smarter in school. I mean how can they? All the new discovey were kept from the public. And all these time you people have been funding the govenment scientific research and what they know, you don't. Look around you. Do you really see new technology coming out at the rate they should be? What I see in the future(if there is a future) is Windows 12, iPhone 8 or maybe we can finally watch satelite TV even during rainy day. internet was in its humble beginnings and computers were starting to be deployed in the schools. Christians have had to face and realize their own sins, and feel compelled to try and help others as well. This chant of Holier than thou is wrong and is taught by others making you think what is cool or acceptable to them. The thought of "believe as i do" is strongly in an unbelievers life, because they feel they will be ridiculed by their friends. Every falsehood a unbeliver weilds, is merely a reflection of the obstacles that unbeliever must face from his very own peers. Unbelievers are the true followers, they are dedicated to fear of what other people think of them. And because of this, they are ashamed of themselves, but wall themselves up to feel comfortable and safe, assuring themselves with rationality and laughter. Which is insanity! oxxxxx§:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+:+> |
