Scratch off lottery tickets !!! Anyone ever buy a whole ROLL

Also, not sure how Pennsylvania does it, but in Illinois, if you try to redeem a winner of over $400 I believe, you have to fill out a special tax form and pay taxes on your winnings.

My peeve with these money wasters....

If the grand prize goes off, they continue selling them until they are sold out. You buy them in the hope of winning big money and your odds are zero. You don't get informed if the big prize has been won. You have a better chance playing the lotto.

This is my understanding of them, please correct me if I'm wrong.

when you play the scratch offs or any ticket, don't play because you need the money but because you want to have fun losing while you play. this way you have a good chance at winning since you are not going to rely on the winning. it doesn't mean you are throwing money away because you are not. playing the lotto is like fishing, we all buy the bate, spent hrs in the river or lake and in the end we go home empty or full of fish; considering we have a license to fish. everything in life is an expense and if you don't play we don't have a chance to win. good luck to all who play and god bless those who don't spend their money on lotto tickets, for those who don't play the lotto, should really invest with God, he does pay much more all the time.

A guy was convicted here recently of robbing a full reel of these tickets. About 200 tickets or so. All he got was 104 euro in total. They are a scam here also.

Unless you hit the grand prize ticket...you will probably get back 85% of your investment.

Similar to Vegas...they must pay out a certain percentage.

In NYS, if all the grand prize tickets have been won, they pull the rest of the tickets. Could be different in other states.

I know 2 people who won big - one guy won 22 million and the other guy won 1 million.

Eh? There is gambling everywhere in the u.s. From scratch tickets at the gas station to slot machines at bars to full fledged casinos..

We sell lottery tickets at our store and it's a regular thing to sell whole packs.

One guy bought 5 packs of $10 tickets once. $1500.
He only made a few dollars over what he spent, though, so be careful.

Most of the time you can break about even depending on the game, but like someone else posted, the usual payout is about half the cost of a pack.
You've really got to hit at least a $500 winner to come out ahead.

Maybe wait til new games are released. Here, it's the first Tuesday of the month and they'll usually have more winners in order to get people to buy them---for a couple of weeks anyway.

About 15 years ago I won $50 on a California scratch card. So I bought 50 tickets, then another 10 or so, then some more a few times. Basically till I ran out of winners from my $50 win.

So I finished up with maybe 75+ tickets for $1. Obviously I didn't win the big one.

i bought a whole roll today & i only won 210 so i decided to go back && see if i would do better so i paid the diffeerence & got another roll only won 170 hahaha dont do it trust me my husband is pissed right now lol but it was fun scratching them htough..!

We used to buy a roll for the office. Everybody would kick in. It was $250 for the roll. Whatever % you put in, you got to scratch that many tickets.

The winning went towards another roll. All three time, we won between $50-65. We never hit anything over $10 on any ticket. Just hoping for a $100 one time!!!

Ya I bought the $5 Joker's Wild in arizona at the Quick Trip on power and ray road. Told the employee at check out that I wanted to buy the whole stack it was 300 bucks brand new in the plastic, he said good luck. I scratch the first and the last ticket and won 500.00 on each ticket. I have not scratched the rest yet but I am sure there are more winner as i have 290.00 worth of tickets to scratch

Me and a buddy of mine bought an entire roll of Winner Take All $20 tickets and 30 on a roll totaling $600.00, $300.00 each. We got back $295.00 out of the $600.00 so it was a big loss of $152.50 each. But buying a roll does increase your odds because instead of terms of a "ticket" your playing in terms of rolls and there is a lot less rolls than tickets conceptually. The 50k winner might be in that roll or a $500.00 which would give you almost all your money back.

So I ended up scratching the rest of the tickets and won a grand total of 3k total that includes the 2 500 dollar winners. about 200.00 worth of tickets were losers.

i bought a whole pack new for $600.00 and as that one guy who is thinking to do so , go for it...life is as that taking chances...well i won back about $450 to $500.if i would do again yes i would...when i get that feeling again..

I once bought 65 tickets left in a roll. I came out 6 dollars ahead. A co-worker used to work in a store. He would keep up with the rolls and if there was no winner for the day he would buy the roll. He always won.

I did this a few years back.I bought a roll of $2 tickets as a Xmas present for my SO.It was a lot of fun and he scratched tickets at his leisure over the holiday.Dont recall exactly how much he won but if I recall correctly he did win more than I paid but not a whole lot more.I know another person that did this and didnt get back as much as they spent.So I guess its just luck for the most part.But it does make a fun gift.

Go to your states lottery home page and all the remaining prizes for each ticket is listed.All the scratch off have how many prizes are left in each tier.Helps to not buy tickets that have nothing left to win.
