When you say process one what do you mean. If you mean taking a spore print or tissue sample to propagate a batch or a clone then yes I do know how to do that. If you mean cook then I imagine sauteed in butter would be a good start.

Meitake mushrooms. Yummy!

Pull or snip the individual mushrooms apart, and dry them in dehydrator or in oven at 175-220 degrees F. until dry. Put in a jar until ready to use.

Soak for 1/2-hour in water, or until reconstituted. Use in any recipe. You can squeeze some of the water out as needed.

Second that. Or olive oil and garlic. Finish with a squeeze of lime and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.

You can vacuum seal them fresh, and freeze directly too.

When harvesting Hen of the woods, only take the tender outer portion of each lobe. The remainder is woody and not desirable for eating. Also, leaving the core helps assure future harvests.

All mushrooms can be dried and stored in air-tight containers for later re-hydration and consumption.

Otherwise, slice it up and saute' it. I had an omelette with 'em earlier this season. Delicious!

Make a Spore-print. Be completely sterile, or as sterile as you can when doing this.

Use a clean mason-jar, use a clean peice of paper, cut the stem off the shroom, and put the cap, spores down on the paper, and let set on paper at bottom of mason-jar.

Close lid, that will leave a spore-print on paper you can use to grow future crop of shrooms. [for eating only]
