I'm pointing out what a douchebag you are for having a thread one day about SCRIPTURE being MEANINGFUL, and the next day saying it's the end of scriptures...

And otherwise, yeah, it's obvious I am the chosen LEADER to end religions and scriptures. I am not a copy cat.

Upon the path to knowing, the first obstacle that will be encountered is the ego.
As his vision slowly cleared, the traveler came to the startling realization that he had been sitting by the side of the road, repeatedly hitting himself in the head with his walking staff. He had in fact been doing this for a quarter of a century.

Shaking his head at his own folly, he dusted himself off, set his gaze upon the road up the mountain and once more set off upon his journey.

Are instructions meaningful to construction?

Apparently not to you. Not only do you throw out the methods, but consider yourself having already arrived and thus fail to change anything.

Dose an unimaginative uninformed asshat resort to ad hominem shabbiness? Obviously.

And your statement of no method only highlights your ignorance.

"Love God with all thy heart mind soul and strength and your neighbor as yourself to enter the Kingdom"

The story of Jacobs transformation into Israel...and many other methods if you merited more of a response.

But you make the exact same mistake as the literal interpreters of the bible make only falling on the very predicable other side of the fence with such assholery that I know you won't consider them.

You've made it a bastion for the importance of yourself, again not uncommon nor interesting. Good luck selling your jewelry. Your brother asks you for silver and you give him tinfoil? Such is the substitution of the physical for the spiritual and the origin of poverty in the world.

The Continuity of Revelation

When we look at the world's religious teachings we tend to see the separate, outer forms, and see them as being unrelated to each other. Yet from our perspective there is only one inner religion, which manifests in many ways and many forms. There has been a continuity of revelation, a steady outpouring of the teachings held by the Spiritual Hierarchy throughout the ages of the world.

Each of these revelations presents to humanity some aspect of the Path. Each revelation presents some clear picture of the nature of spiritual reality. They also, in exceptional cases, ground or anchor upon the earth a spiritual principle (that is to say, a planetary, solar, or cosmic principle) making it more accessible to mankind.

It is said that Hercules, in his twelve labors, symbolically presented to humanity the path of soul unfoldment. As Hercules passed through the twelve labors he also passed through the twelve signs of the zodiac. In doing so he represented the soul, as it reincarnated over and over again, gaining experience, overcoming the limitations of the lower nature, and passing triumphantly through to the Light.

Later, yet still many ages ago, he who is now known as the Hindu teacher Vyasu represented the passage of the human being through the door of the first initiation. In that far distant age, this teacher made the transition through the door possible.

Consider an unknown, unexplored territory. A few brave souls decide to undertake a journey, and carve a path through the wilderness. After they do so, the way is easier for others. There are markers on the path, guideposts on the way, and a trail, however faint, has been established. It is the same for these great teachers. They courageously went through the trials and difficulties of initiation, forged a path through the spiritual wilderness, and by their effort and sacrifice marked the way for others.

The second initiation was represented for humanity by the life of the Hindu teacher Krishna. We see the necessary teachings for the second initiation beautifully embodied for us in the story in the Bhagavad Gita, where Arjuna, the aspiring soul, seeks his way out of the realm of the emotions into the world of the soul.

The third initiation, is gloriously represented in the life of Gautama Buddha. He symbolized in his life the great struggle against the forces of illusion, the control of the mind, and the consequent liberation into the life of Spirit. The Buddha, in his Transfiguration under the Bodhi tree, made the way easier for all subsequent disciples on the path.

The Buddha also grounded a great spiritual principle, the principle of Light. The theme of illumination, revelation, clarity of mind, and inner vision runs throughout the Buddha's teachings. In the East, this has grounded the idea of the light of the "real mind" and made it apparent to humanity. In the West, this has resulted in the revelation of the light of the soul. Many of the great Greek philosophers echoed the Buddha's words and adapted them for the benefit of the West.

The Christ continued the process of revelation, and presented many things to humanity. First, the Christ symbolized for humanity the process of the fourth initiation, often termed the Crucifixion. It is this crucifixion that is fixed in the minds of humanity by the life of the Christ, and this has served to teach humanity the need for sacrifice and service to others.

Second, the Christ anchored the spiritual energy of Love more firmly on the earth. This is not to say that love was never mentioned in other previous teachings, but that it was presented to humanity in a new way and with a new emphasis. We can see this in the West by the growing understanding of humanity about the true nature of love. It has been hard for humanity to grasp this teaching and apply it, and humanity is still — through pain and sorrow — learning the lesson of the need for love. In the East, this emphasis upon love may be seen in the rise of the Mahayana teachings of Buddhism and their emphasis upon the development of bodhicitta, the "mind of compassion."

Third, the Christ presented the path of initiation as a whole to humanity. This path is represented in every aspect of His life as portrayed in the Bible:

* The first initiation: the birth at Bethlehem.
* The second initiation: the baptism at the river Jordan, representing mastery over the watery emotional nature.
* The third initiation: the transfiguration on Mount Carmel, with the three disciples present, witnessing the vision of the three prophets.
* The fourth initiation: the Crucifixion on the cross of four arms.
* The fifth initiation: the resurrection of Christ.

In this manner the whole path of initiation was presented, however dimly, to humanity.
"And though I believe in the ineffable glory of God, and though I might have experienced the undeniable reality of the Deity, and though I may know the secrets of the ages, these do not fulfill the Love in my heart. But to Change and Be and Do and dissolve both the subject of my person and the object of my God into the fluency of Empirical Providence. The Way, the Truth, and the Life."

Re: Where the scripture ends...Truth begins
after 8 months of traveling the world building medicine wheels, I found myself on the island of Maui above Poli Poli springs.

On the night of the summer solstice of that year I lit a fire in the centre of a medicine wheel and took a journey through the flames.

I witnessed 2 cruise ships on the ocean far at sea. Each loaded with passengers and headed seemingly straight for the other. I seemed to be without body above one of the ships and was watching the panic that ensued as the passengers began to notice the other ship in the distance.
Initially the panic was directed toward the captain and crew in the form of pleas and demands to change course...but the captain was adamant that he must hold his course. The passengers turned their angst towards each other then. First yelling and arguing the pushing and fighting. I could hear and feel the tones of naked fear and pitiful self-righteousness in the melee.
Soon, the other ship was within earshot and the exact same scenario could be seen and heard taking place on the other ship.
As the ships drew nearer the passengers from each ship began to throw items from one vessel toward the other. People began to assault the crew who were protecting the captain who was determined to hold the course....ditto on the other ship.

Finally, in the midst of my confusion as to why I was seeing this in the fire, I asked, "what am I doing here?".
Then I felt large hands on my shoulders pushing me down onto the ship I'd been watching...down down into a chair that was on a deck filled with chairs. Now I was bodily aboard this doomed vessel and a voice came clear through the din to my inner ear, "Stay in Your Seat".
I looked around and there were several people...many in fact, who were sitting quietly watching as the panicked mob grew more and more distasteful with each ignorant act and word.
Then the ships met......
but instead of a massive collision the hulls only grazed one another creating an enormous vibration across the decks of each ship. There was a tremendous incredible sound accompanied with the vibration.
All who were not sitting quietly were vibrated right over board into the sea. And because each captain dutifully held his course the ships were unharmed and still on course.

Best of all was the unforgettable sense of peace and tranquility I felt and shared with my fellow passengers as the chaos stopped and the cruise resumed. The appreciation for peace was 10 fold due to the build up and release of the tension.

...the difference is why.

don't share this story often....and of course there is more to the story.....always more to it.

the delicate sound of thunder.....

fire on the mountain......

one way or the other there will be peace....
it's not personal....

it begins within

c ya out there...in the river.

remember...it's only the river.

peace

Re: Where the scripture ends...Truth begins
Interesting thread Rex.

It seems so many want someone else to prove to them that 'God' exists. Why would one look outside of oneself to find what can only be found within? How can anyone 'prove' to another what they can only prove to themselves?

Of course, many who pretend they are looking for proof of 'God' are only looking for proof of the opposite of what they claim they are searching for. Not surprisingly, at least to their conscious mind, they often think they've found what they are looking for. Namely, proof that 'God', whatever they associate that term with, doesn't exist.

Yet, so many who seem so adamant that there is not a 'God', sure seem to spend a lot of energy trying to prove to others that their beliefs are correct.

Perhaps it's all a matter of how one defines one's self.

Take reincarnation.

So many ponder what happens when they die. Will they be resurrected after they die to live another life?

Yet how can any answers be meaningful without really knowing Who you are? Really.

Perhaps who you really are is being resurrected every moment.

Perhaps who you really are is a part of all Life.

No longer viewing the world as outside of oneself, but in fact, realizing that we are each a part of the world, a microcosm within a greater macrocosm. A living world full of life.

If we begin to change how we define ourselves then the question of resurrection takes on a different meaning altogether. When we see new life being born into the manifest world, we can understand that in a unique way what we witness is in fact of the same essence that has breathed life into our consciousness. The same essence that we are all One with.

A unifying essence that is beyond the symbols of man that we all use to attempt to define the undefinable. The laws of being written in our hearts only to be read with the light of Love.

For myself, I can't prove to anyone that 'God' exists. I know that I'm a part of something that is far greater than my ego mind can comprehend. I also know that I don't have to be able to rationalize it in a way that I can relate what I know to someone who hasn't realized yet that they and only they can prove to themselves that they are part of something that is Alive with Life. That they are a part of that Life. That the very fact that they are able to contemplate philosophical issues such as whether there is a 'God' should be amazing enough to at least make one want to know where the gift of their Life originates.

Perhaps it's a matter of how much appreciation one really has for Life. It seems that so many today appreciate the oblique and obtuse, yet rarely notice the subtle and immense reality of their own very life, nor the amazing life that is all around us every moment.

Isn't it strange that the human brain has two hemispheres that for all the rational mind can determine seem to take on tasks of different natures. One side of the brain is very logical and tonally oriented. The other side is the intuitive, mystical.

We all have both aspects within our selves, yet most use one side more than the other. Perhaps it is just a matter of finding the balance between the two.

Re: Where the scripture ends...Truth begins
Interesting thread Rex.

It seems so many want someone else to prove to them that 'God' exists. Why would one look outside of oneself to find what can only be found within? How can anyone 'prove' to another what they can only prove to themselves?

Thank you very much for the contribution, thumbs I'll give a proper response tomorrow, time to turn in...

New Age Messiah, take it away since this is your area of expertise! Tell everybody how it's done! Since you were the first to demonstrate it and this is what you've been posting about being the big new messiah in town and all... I figure you'll fill the pages with inspired salient thoughts while I'm away.

And...Go! charlie
