saw it, and it was of course sanitised, but still very profound, lot of cliche's tho, but still very much worth the watch, of course i would have liked this never happened, but these guys went and went through it. I hope they can come to terms with the political side of it, as he says that's the hardest part of coming home, not knowing if it was worth it..

RESTREPO is a feature-length documentary that chronicles the deployment of a platoon of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley. The movie focuses on a remote 15-man outpost, "Restrepo," named after a platoon medic who was killed in action. It was considered one of the most dangerous postings in the U.S. military. This is an entirely experiential film: the cameras never leave the valley; there are no interviews with generals or diplomats. The only goal is to make viewers feel as if they have just been through a 90-minute deployment. This is war, full stop. The conclusions are up to you.

It is a very intense documentary, I will remember this one as the best.
No generals, no diplomats talking pc, only soldiers on a 12-month deployment, filmed from beginning to end.

You cannot win in Afghanistan ... the Russians failed, so will America ... just close the borders and let the people there fuck their goats or whatever they do. All this war does is waste young American lives for nothing ... the only ones that gain from it are the coorporations in the military industrial complex.

Yeah I watched it... great documentary... that's why I forced my brother TO NOT GO in the army...

Great that this documentary saved someone(your brother) from making a monumental mistake ie joining up for shit like this..


50 soldiers died in that valley, and the army gave it up in april 2010. It was all for nothing, but I am sure Medic Restrepo will be remembered.

Severe Clear was the best front line documovie. Yet sad that man can take life. FUCK'EM!!

What a shit hole is what I keep hearing. Beware Jarhead. This could be or by design will be America. This is a bad sign of things to come. Watching this reinforced my thought that this world is wrong. America is defending the Saturnian cult of EL. This is an ancient cult war. EL controlling RA stepping on Isis! It is what it is!

I've seen the doc. I was totally amazed by the lack of discipline by most soldiers involved. Even killing innocent citizens, injuring women and children thanks to the ambitious and incapable captain. The total lack of respect for locals. The captain didn't give a fuck, and the colonel plainly lied. You could excuse the puppies, altho most of them were assholes.

Killing, dying and PTSD for life, for nothing.

In his memory RIP

Just watched it and there is no doubt in my mind there was a hit out on him. They said after his first combat tour that he was talking to friends and family about the war and how corrupt it was.

I think after he was done in Afghanistan he would've come out in full force against the war. He had a diary too and they destroyed that. He really seemed like he would have been a force to reckon with and I think TPTB knew that.
