They don't call on His name because the men who were entrusted with maintaining and teaching the Oracles of God, His written word, love to wrest power for themselves...standing at the gate of heaven keeping the others from entering. They took away His name so that men would have to come to them for their sanctification.

Contrary to popular opinion, the phrase 'do not use His Name in vain' did not mean 'don't use it as a curse word', although that is wrong too. By changing the God-given name, the name that was given to Moses for us to honor by changing it to titles, they've broken the third command by bringing His name to naught, hiding it, nullifying it, keeping us from calling on Him by His given Name.

His name was used nearly 7,000 times in Scripture, and in almost every instance the scribes changed it to Lord, or God, or some other title.

Now it has been so long hidden it is a challenge to find the original pronunciation, since ancient Hebrew was written in consonants, with no hint of vowel sounds until the Masorah codification system of vowel sound pointers later in history.

He wanted us to call on His name. In His name we are saved, in His name there is power.

It might be a good idea to seek out His name in your walk of obedience.
