Why this obsession with a telescope? They couldn't possibly have brought one along that was large enough to be better than Earthbound telescopes in visible light. And there's absolutely no point in taking one all the way to the Moon when Earth orbit would be just as good (and probably better) so far as factors like atmospheric interference are concerned.
