Get over it. like a lot of other stuff that came out in the '80s, it was just fun music, great visual performance. they were just trying to do what everyone else was trying to do, but in a different way. as far as the message goes, I don't care, it was just good music to me... And I'm a Wiccan. It was theater and eveyone had their own angle. I remember reading an interview with Dio and Iommi where they were asked this stupid question. The answer was perfect. First a flat out No, then they said that the preceived idea of it sold more records so they went along with it and let people think what they wanted. Perfect marketing! I'm not too fond of Signatures. Why would I want to end every post the same way? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 35101661 United States 03/05/2013 01:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Stryper is awesome! Great musicians. Everyone always says, "Yeah, but they're that christian band..." like that automatically makes them suck. My feeling is, who cares what you sing about as long as its good music. I'm a fan of all things metal and its kinda nice to hear a change. You can only sing about blood/death/demons for so long. These guys can outplay most the other bands out there and singer Michael Sweet is up there with Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson for great singers. As far as them being legitimate christians that's between them and the almighty. I've seen them live 3 times within the last 3 years. Not only was it an amazing performance each time, but they either started or ended each show with a prayer. At some point during the show they professed their love for Jesus Christ. And of course they threw out the Bibles. Michael Sweet has gone on the record as saying they've strayed a time or two with alcohol and whatnot. They're human, we all stray! Now as far as this illuminati/satanist business goes....I dont think Stryper sold out or sold their souls to be famous. Sure they were big in the 80s but nowhere near what Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, or Guns N Roses were. For the better part of the 90s these guys all had to work regular jobs. Don't quote me on this but I've heard stories of Oz Fox (guitarist) working at a Best Buy when not touring. That said, I do believe there are evil entities in the music business and that some of these big acts have sold out in some form. If the guys in Stryper are just putting on an act then they are doing a good job because they seem very genuine. And for those who say they were just using Christianity as a gimmick to sell records, why the hell wouldnt they pick something a little more fashionable and popular than christianity?? The 80s bands were all known for partying and here Stryper comes along and does something totally unpopular. I think this also shows they are legitimate. I know I'm ranting but I really respect these guys and love their music. Wish them nothing but the best. Rock on guys!!! |

Oh and Op, Stryper was NOT a huge band during the glam time. They may have had some fans but not the multitude other bands had. |

Just because you only listen to lady gaga and katy perry doesnt mean there arent other bands out there. |
