this individual presents himself in the same manner as the many other desperate, dogmatic lemmings who defended and followed after charismatic leaders such as jim jones, david koresh, etc. these ones also had over-zealous, misguided interpretations of scripture which, when unfulfilled, led to disastrous consequences.

there is a similarity in the tone here, evident only in cult-like circles: "[insert leader/group here] has the only true interpretation of scripture for the last days and [insert date here] is the day of christ's coming. therefore, the world outside [insert group here] is destined to destruction."

i will bet my bottom dollar ABSOLUTELY NOTHING will occur except that, when promised predictions fail, the following will occur:

1. an explanation by leader will be given to the effect: "the time was not right for christ to come to judge mankind. the world is not yet ready" whereby another date is set; OR

2. leader changes interpretation slightly saying that christ has come but invisibly, and that mankind is instead experiencing some sort of "spiritual" judgement, invariably something which is going on that is unseen to human eyes. these two explanations, if handled correcly, allow to escape a certain amount of public humiliation; OR

3. leader will retreat with hardcore followers into some secluded neck of the woods whereby they become more fundamentalist, paranoid, and possibly militant in nature, inevitably leading to brushes with the authorities and ultimately armed conflict or mass suicide. hopefully this is something that won't have to occur.

feel free to add to the list of many excuses or consequences of failed predictions by many of history's pseudoprophets and fake soothsayers!

see you on 5/22 here on glp OP ;)

I don't mind answering real questions, but ignorant statements with nothing biblical to back it up is not worth the little time we have left to waste on a single brain cell.

I suggest you search out this mass amounts of "BIBLICAL" information for yourself and lets see if you can come back still with an ignorant post.

However, thanks for bumping it up to the first page!

i am absolutely confident that what i have stated regarding this group will occur as a result of failed prediction. once again for reiteration sake, these are as follows:

1. an explanation by leader will be given to the effect: "the time was not right for christ to come to judge mankind. the world is not yet ready" whereby another date is set; OR

2. leader changes interpretation slightly saying that christ has come but invisibly, and that mankind is instead experiencing some sort of "spiritual" judgement, invariably something which is going on that is unseen to human eyes. these two explanations, if handled correcly, allow to escape a certain amount of public humiliation; OR

3. leader will retreat with hardcore followers into some secluded neck of the woods whereby they become more fundamentalist, paranoid, and possibly militant in nature, inevitably leading to brushes with the authorities and ultimately armed conflict or mass suicide. hopefully this is something that won't have to occur.

there may be some exceptions to the above in how leader will manage failure. he may even have a contingency already in place to deal with the situation when it arises. at any rate, i do believe my "predictions" to be more accurate and await pending satisfaction.

the scriptures foretold there would be myriads of false prophets arising and misleading legions in the final days based on their narrow-minded interpretation of biblical prophecy. history shows a long line of failures in the prophetic-date-setting department. i will happily sell house and follow this camping individual to the ends of the earth should his predictions of christ's rapture on 5/21/2011 prove true.
