What does Michael Jackson have in common with the Beatles and Elvis? In addition to being among the biggest superstars in pop, the three all now have their own Cirque du Soleil shows.

Nearly 18 months after Jackson’s death, the star’s estate announced details of the first of two Cirque du Soleil shows to be based on his music and dancing.

The 27-city “Immortal World Tour” is to kick off in Montreal Oct. 2, 2011, running through mid-2012 with stops in several other Canadian cities, plus Las Vegas, Denver, Los Angeles and New York, among others. Tickets go on sale Saturday, for $50 to $250 apiece.

The lavish production is to cost $57 million and include more than 60 performers, directed by choregrapher Jamie King, who has worked closely with Madonna and other pop stars. Production costs are being split between Cirque and the Jackson estate, as profits are to be.
