mata = kill
moros=

In Greek mythology, Moros (Μόρος, doom, fate) is the personification of impending doom, who drives every being, mortal or otherwise, to its fated doom. Very little is known about him, but he is thought to be omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent, and not even Zeus can defeat him

Moro people refers to a population of Muslims in the Philippines

This is an example of why the war on drugs is so necessary ...if we don't stop this drug trafficing there will just be more and more of this sort of fighting on are border with Mexico

WRONG!!

If you legalize drugs, there is nothing to fight about.

See anyone fighting over alcohol? No--they used to do the same kind of gang warfare over alcohol during prohibition.

Prohibition: yeah, it still doesn't work!!

You both have good points.
 Quoting: TXGal4Truth

The Constitution is quite clear about this. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is allowed as long as it does not interfere with the same of another.

Total freedom would work if crimes with direct victims (i.e. drug/alcohol related violence) were actually punished.

If the law of the Constitution was followed the corrupt people inside government/law enforcement would not be able to run the drug business.

This is not rocket science.

OMG it never ends!

It is TREASON to leave our borders unsecured like this!
Americans and Mexicans are DYING because our border is open for business.

Everytime and American tourist dies, everytime and illegal dies while being smuggled in for cheap labor, everytime someone is killed in the drug war...there is blood on the hands of those who should secure our borders for the good of both nations.

When will this insanity stop?
 Quoting: Say_It_Loud

Incredibly Well Said.

Who screams loudest when anyone says we must secure our borders?

Yep, latinos.

No one ever asks them why they support a border policy that exploits so many in Mexico and victimizes so many? The mules are paid and bribed to help those who pay them over the border - frequently in unsafe conditions where people die.

My latino brothers and sisters should be the ones shouting LOUDEST for secure borders.

You wanna know how Mexico secures its southern borders??

El Diario (Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua) 11/4/10

NATO type weapons in Matamoros

Mexican Marines seized a load of 230 grenades of 40 mm. caliber, a weapon also used by NATO forces, and of a destructive power considered as “very high.”

Also seized were 64,950 rounds of ammunition and either 10 or 17 firearms (the reports contradict each other). The exact location of the house where all this was found was not disclosed, and it was only identified as a “safe house” for the “Zetas” criminal group in the city of Matamoros (right across the Rio Grande River from Brownsville, Texas.)

And up that river, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila (across from Eagle Pass, Texas) military personnel seized 202 kilos of weed, 5 long barrel firearms, 2 handguns, 3 hand grenades and 265 rounds of ammo. Also found elsewhere in the same town: 6,434 kilos of marihuana, and empty boxes of grenades and ammunition.

Evil & Ugly there...
 Quoting: ScrumpTheTexan

Yes, and it's only made worse when people who have no clue about the roots of language and the etymology of words start making assertions that are incorrect.

In the absence of a linguist, I would still hope that common sense would scream out, "There weren't any Muslims IN Mexico when Matamoros was named!"

It's bad enough that fellow human beings are being killed. I don't need to have them broken down into groups by people who think that "some pigs are more equal than others." (From Animal Farm by George Orwell)

And to all of you non-Texans?? Lay off the Hispanic racial crap! Texas used to be part of Mexico and our culture and very identity as a state is largely influenced by our Mexican heritage.

The name Texas derives from táysha'; a word in the Caddoan language of the Hasinai, which means "friends" or "allies." The Hasinai are just one of many, many other peoples who lived here long before America existed. They were here before the French and Spanish colonization of Central America, and long before there was ever a Mexico. I could write you a book on this beautiful country, but suffice to say that many cultures have called Texas home and it was the descendants of those many peoples who fought and died to save Texas from the tyranny of Antonio López de Santa Anna. Even the Spanish that is spoken in Texas is mixed with the languages of all of the people's who came before us.
