LOL - a fucked up view of responsibility in a fucked-up world!

I'm pissed off - and if they were within arm's reach, I'd slap them hard!

But shoot them?

NO

I didn't say shoot them. Firing off a round over their heads would get their attention, and I guarantee the kids wouldn't return.

.

Ok, yeah - that would work,

maybe if the situation gets even worse here, that will be a solution, I'd have to get a license first though.
 Quoting: kalamity kool

I'd honestly say screw the license and find another way to get a gun, cause otherwise you give them means to tell you no. But then that's just me.
No one is perfect. A babe before walking will first stumble and fall many times but NEVER gives up until he succeeds.

Always remember, ultimately, to never follow any person's belief. Your relationship with God is between you and God.

If nothing else, remember this: religion = subservience, control and conformity, the same template as EVERY government

"Most believers would kill truth if truth threatened their religion." L. K. Washburn

"This crime called blasphemy was invented by priests for the purpose of defending doctrines not able to take care of themselves." Robert Ingersoll

"If anyone wants to know how God feels, it's a warm light as if the sun is poking through dark clouds and lifting your spirits with pure joy."

Too bad you don't live in some extremely Rural area, or in the USA. You could have just shot them, or had the cops actually do their jobs.

Atleast you weren't harmed, this time.

That's funny. Cops don't stop crime, sometimes they solve it but they don't stop it. Crime continues...

Re: our house was broken into this morning
reminds me of Oliver Twist.

gangs of theieves that uses kids. use this as a learnuign experience

advice
- get a dog even a lap dog will give a warning.
- lock everything before you got to bed including windows.
- motion detector spot lights, I use solar. 34.99
- try remote motion alarms on windows or doors. (cheap)
- Prepare for more of this to happen as ecomony goes south.

- buy a gun to defend yourself, next time it could be 2 crack heads or convicts that rape and kill your kids, family. ( see events in ct)

note- during great depression- break-ins and robbery were common place. It comming again- break-in up 79% in our area

My laptop is gone, and my daughter's too

:(

A gang of kids, but we saw the older guy that drives them, he had a flash red sedan, fucking shit-heads!

The whole area was targetted, they got in through a window, a small gap only, but they are very small, 'foetal alcohol syndrome' the cop said.

:(

They can't even be charged because they're too young,
and PC is hampering the cops in being able to do anything to combat the growing problem in this town.

Thats what you get for being a bunch of disarmed fucks. Serves you right.

That's the spirit...shoot the small children climbing through the window. norespect putin

I learned from the Asians, Africans, South Americans and any place that has gone through a Genocide, Civil War or Invasion.
Small children are just as dangerous, if not more so, than adults when it comes to others' lives.
See: Sociopathy and the Brain of a Child.

In the US if you were to shoot a small child who climbed through your window, you'd be facing life in prison at best, if the citizens didn't kill you first.

Not in my area, not 4 months ago a man fired on 4 teenage jackasses breaking into his house.
Killed 2, and the others got away (caught later).

He wasn't in trouble until the captured teens told the cops that they were breaking into the home for the drug stash (which was found, causing the said man to be arrested for drug possetion).

So yeah, I would put 2 into the "child's" chest, and one in his or her head. Then have the cops do their job and clean up the body. (Okay, CSI, but you get the picture)

No prison time where I live, not even jail time. (Plus, the laws allow me to protect myself in my own home, regardless of the person's race or age)

EDIT: Spelling error.

Shooting teens is different from shooting a small child.
 Quoting: awthrawthr

Not really, I have had to shoot and kill both, for weapons or IED's. Its the same, bad guy is bad guy whether he knows it or not. Cant let some small child wearing remote controlled explosives walk up a to a group of people and be detonated. rocket

Not likely to get them back, most of my daughter's travelling pics weren't on a disc..
ouch

I'm on my other daughter's laptop, her house does have a dog, but we only have a lease until March, so getting a dog isn't an option, it's so much harder to rent with a dog.

Even if I'd had a gun, two lappies are NOT worth a life,

Re: our house was broken into this morning
A dog really is the best defense, if you get the right dog; although, even a little yapper can sound the alarm, like another poster said. I know you said that having a dog makes it difficult to rent, but that is a choice you need to make -- difficult does not mean impossible. I used to live on the south side of Chicago, and the best investment I ever made was getting a Rottweiler and a Pit Bull, and "no," it was not easy finding a place to rent because of it.

Barring getting an actual dog, you may want to consider posting some signs stating, "Beware of Dog!" If the thieves are not staking out the property, a simple sign should be enough of a deterrent to send them to your neighbor's house instead of yours. Of course it sux to be your neighbor but, hey...

On a related note, do you have renter's insurance? If so, get a copy of the police report and file a claim.

On a final note, considering where we are headed as a society, I would seriously consider getting a dog now if I were you. It is true they are somewhat labor intensive to care for, and not necessarily cheap, but I sleep well at night knowing that my dogs are "always on duty."

If someone were breaking into Mole Manor in the middle of the night I might shoot, because I would not be able to determine their intent, but I would hate to kill over a laptop. The reason there are not a lot of burglaries in occupied homes in the US is that thieves know there is a chance they will be shot and the law protects the homeowner.

All you can do now is evalualte your security and upgrade.

I'm sorry OP, I know how it feels. I have to tell you that once you've been burgled it is increasingly likely to happen again. The sods know that the items stolen will be replaced on the insurance policy and will come back for the shiny new stuff 3-4 weeks later.

Poor people do poor people things, and rich people do rich people things.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

when you rob Paul to give to Peter ... ... ... you will always get Peters support!

It goes deeper than that...they were violated, their home was violated...It's a horrible feeling...

true, i had a motorcycle stolen from an apartment parking complex about twenty years ago, crappy feeling.

turns out i found out later it was somebody i was acquainted with, not closely but i knew them,

the good thing is this person happened to drop it into conversation about a year after the incident to a friend of mine whom he didn't know knew me,

needless to say payback was a bitch, and leave it at that

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1154687

We have a Big Black Dog that does chase them down. He, Apollo, eats them, or tries to. We have never had a problem with burglary.

He is really cunning. When somebody comes up the walk to the front door, he alerts and runs to the door before the person can get there. The dog barks deep and loud to let the person know that there is a BIG FUGGING DOG THAT LIVES IN THIS HOUSE.

He then waits behind the door for somebody to open it. The moment the door is opened he goes for the throat. Apollo could possibly be shot, but I am certain that he will kill the person before he dies. He is a Great Dane, and instinctively knows who is a member of the family and who needs to be killed.

well that fricking blows KK. when it rains it pours eh? just remember it is always darkest just before the light

i had taken a job teaching years ago and moved all my stuff into an apartment, and then went back home for the last weekend. when i returned sunday night my front door was open and all of my shit was gone, they even took my clothes and flooded the toilet with them.
i had no insurance and totally lost my ass on that deal. if karma is real, those bastards fell into a wood chipper

the most difficult part is trying to understand that mentality, if a clerk gives me too much change i say something and give it back, let alone intentionally breaking into someones home , invading their space, and stealing. that is one fucked up way to lead your life

Main thing is you and your family were not hurt. Might want to check out some wireless motion detectors for your windows/Entry doors that have an audible alarm, relatively inexpensive and you can install them in a few minutes.
