"A female police officer swam under the hull of the ferry to comfort the four trapped people. The woman is believed to have calmed the injured passengers before the ferry was moved to the Blaxland Road boat ramp."

For once, a major credit to the thin-blue-line gang. Finally, a cop that knows what serving-n-protecting means! Yeah!

Police are still waiting for toxicology results to see whether drinking had been involved, Detective Superintendent Jim Johnson of Marine Area Command said.

"We are having some difficulties as the master of the vessel and crew are Korean," he added.

"At this stage three of them remain in hospital, one serious but not life threatening.

"From the information I have been given, it was a head-on collision and the speedboat went under the catamaran.

"The ferry master has been breath tested with a negative result and we are waiting on toxicology results in relation to the master of the speed boat."
