I just made some god awful cinnamon rolls...

I too am curious as to what recipe you used.

Pillsbury? WTH did they DO to them? I used to like them, but now the cinnamon rolls and the orange ones, too, taste AWFUL...some sort of fake "flavoring?

One time I was talking as I was making a buttermilk pie -- somehow I forgot the sugar. It would have been better with some bacon, mushrooms, and peppers because it wasn't bad for a quiche! LOL

Google " Clone of a Cinnabon" recipe. You use a bread maker to make the dough, it's easy-peasey. Really good too. I don't make them very often because I would be a fat pig if I did.

This is a great recipe. A lot of work, but worth it once or twice a year. I usually make them for Christmas or New Year's Day morning.

A cinnamon roll is essentially bread dough that has been rose once, rolled out, then rolled up with cinnamon and sugar. sliced then allowed to rise again before baking.

Yeast breads are all tricky to get 'just right' at the kneading end of things. You have to get a feel (literally) for how the dough should feel and the elasticity it has before the first rising.

This takes practice - lots of practice.

If you have a kitchen aide with a hook, use the hook for 12 minutes between speed 2 and 4, that will give you a really good, consistent kneaded dough to start with.

Another thing you might want to try is buying a pack of frozen bread dough. They are already kneaded and shaped into loaf sized. All you need to do is defrost and use.

Use those to get a good feel of what a 'ready' bread dough feels like after being kneaded.

You can also use the dough for several other things, I believe the package has the recipe for cinnamon rolls.

I hate when i eat some junky crap like that then it makes me sick to boot! For example, "cream horns" they are nasty as can be, they are bound to make you sick, yet ,on occasion I eat them, why?

OP there is a no fail cin roll recipe on line that involves using vanilla jello pudding mix. They are suppose to taste very similar to cinnabonsns.

LOL. Okay, if you want to salvage your horrible cinnamon rolls try this: tear them apart and put them in a fairly large bowl, whip some eggs together with milk, and add to the roll pieces. Leave the egg, milk and roll mixture in bowl til it gets kind of soggy. Grease a muffin tin (or casserole pan), drop the entire mess in and bake at 400 for about 15 minutes (pre-heat oven).
