This is completely explained here:
[link to contrailscience.com]
It was only a persistent contrail made by flight 808 from Hawaii heading east towards Phoenix. No radar image appeared of any missile at that time because there was NO missile launch. A long persistent contrail can extend from horizon to horizon making it appear that it's coming out from the oceans surface. The jet was also moving way too slow to be a missile. The conspiracy sites are pushing this missile plot because they don't want to admit that contrails can form long persistent trails because it debunks the entire Chem-trail hoax. There is ASOLUTELY no proof of the chem-trail hoax and certainly no proof of a Chinese missile launch. Chem-trailers believe what they do because the IGNORE the 70 years of the well understood science of contrail formation. The word IGNORE is the root word of IGNORANCE of which Chem-trailers have plenty of.

Ok, you and the rest of the planetards DO have a valid argument as contrails can be deceiving. BUT>>>This evening, the sky was the same orange hue, it basically looked like it did the night in question. the sky was littered with contrails, and some looked to be coming off the horizon with a squiggly contour, BUT none of them were straight up, nor as thick nor moving as fast as the one off the coast. I sat and looked at them for quite awhile, yes, a plane can make something that looks somewhat similar, but there was a distinct difference.

A plane making a long persistent contrail that is heading toward the viewer will appear to be heading vertically do to perspective.
