US Support for Israel Must Continue Forever,' says Biden
By GIL SHEFLER

November 10, 2010 "JPost" November 08, 2010 -- NEW ORLEANS – US Vice President Joe Biden delivered an impassioned speech in support of Israel at the Jewish Federations of North American’s General Assembly in New Orleans on Sunday, saying whatever differences have recently existed between the White House and Jerusalem these were tactical rather than fundamental.

He reiterated what he said was the Obama administration’s deep commitment to Israel’s security and to preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

“When it comes to Israel’s security there can be no daylight – no daylight – between Israel and the US,” he said.

Biden’s conciliatory tone toward Jerusalem make have come in response to controversy that emerged during his trip to Israel last spring, when he criticized the government for allowing Jewish construction in the eastern part of Jerusalem.

The vice president said the disagreement back then was settled in a private meeting with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Iran featured prominently in Biden’s address in New Orleans.

“It is critical to keep the international spot light on the genuine threats to the Israel like the Iranian nuclear program, not Israel,” he said.

Earlier in the day, the vice president met with Netanyahu, who is said to have raised the threat posed by the Islamic Republic.

In his speech, Biden also upheld the Palestinians’ right to their own country, saying that objective was in line with Israel’s interests.

“There is no substitute for direct, face-to-face negotiations leading to two states, a secure state for Israel and one for Palestine,” he said.

Biden’s address got off to a precarious start. Just before he began talking, a man in the audience yelled out, calling on the vice president to help build a Jewish temple in Jerusalem, which would be instead of the Aksa Mosque. The hundreds of Jewish delegates let out a collective sigh of disappointment and Biden ignored the remark, proceeding unhindered with his remarks.

Biden, who was first elected to the Senate in 1972, told his audience the story about his encounter with Golda Meir on his first visit to Israel. He recalled how the US-raised prime minister told him that the Jews’ secret weapon was that they have nowhere to go, right before a joint press conference.

“I thought she said it only to me, but turns out she said it to thousands of people,” he said. “All these years later I still feel that our support for Israel must continue forever.”

Bush rejects claims that Israel was behind Iraq war
By HILARY LEILA KRIEGER
11/10/2010 01:07

In new memoir, former US president says "those theories were false. I was sending our troops into combat to protect the American people.”

WASHINGTON – In his new memoir out Tuesday, former US president George W. Bush flatly rejects the notion that Israel was behind his decision to invade Iraq.

Referring to critics who cast aspersions on his motives, Bush dismisses those who “alleged that America’s real intent was to control Iraq’s oil or satisfy Israel.”

In the 30 pages he spends in Decision Points detailing the frantic diplomacy, military planning and consultations with international figures in the run-up to the Iraq war, Bush never once mentions a conversation with an Israeli official or member of a pro-Israel organization.

Bush does mention the threat of Israel being bombarded with missiles among his many concerns about fallout from an invasion – including the well-being of Iraqi civilians and the possibility of chemical weapons being used against US soldiers.

But when it comes to Middle Eastern pressure to declare war, he only describes Arab input: from Saudi Arabian Prince Bandar, who urged him to make a decision on whether to attack, and from Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who said Iraq had biological weapons and would certainly use them against the US, an assessment Mubarak wouldn’t make public “for fear of inciting the Arab street.”

The picture Bush paints stands in stark contrast to the assertions of critics who charged that the “Israel lobby” was a major factor in the decision to go to war. Among the most vocal were scholars John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, who said of the Israel lobby that “the war would almost certainly not have occurred had it been absent.”

Re: US Support for Israel Must Continue Forever,' says Biden
Prime Minister Stephen Harper says he is prepared to suffer any political backlash that comes his way for speaking out against anti-Israel rhetoric.

Harper told an audience Monday that while Israel is receptive to fair criticism, Canada is obligated to stand up for its ally when it comes under attack from others.

"Not just because it is the right thing to do, but because history shows us, and the ideology of the anti-Israel mob tell us all too well, that those who threaten the existence of the Jewish people are in the longer term a threat to all of us."

The prime minister acknowledged that his position is not popular with all governments and organizations, including members of the United Nations and the Francophonie.

"And I know, by the way, because I have the bruises to show for it, that whether it is at the United Nations or any other international forum, the easiest thing to do is simply to just get along and go along with this anti-Israel rhetoric, to pretend it is just about being even-handed, and to excuse oneself with the label of honest broker.

"There are, after all, a lot more votes -- a lot more -- in being anti-Israeli than in taking a stand. But as long as I am prime minister, whether it is at the United Nations, the Francophonie or anywhere else, Canada will take that stand, whatever the cost."

The prime minister's use of the phrase "honest broker" is an apparent reference to a recent speech made by Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff.

Elections Put Pro-Israel Neo-Cons Back on Top

By Michael Collins Piper

The Republican Party’s takeover of the House of Representatives in the recent election also ushers in a consolidation of pro-Israeli political influence over Congress unlike ever before. Then, too—not coincidentally—it heralds a new era in which secret campaign contributions by big-money interests are now holding sway in an unprecedented way.

Exemplifying these new developments is the rapid-fire rise of Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.), a deeply religious Orthodox Jew and pro-Israeli “neo-conservative” hard-liner who is expected to be named House majority leader in the forthcoming GOP-controlled Congress.

Although the majority leader post is officially the No. 2 slot in the House of Representatives, the truth is, Cantor will hold tremendous behind-the-scenes power in the Republican caucus—greater than even Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio), who is slated to become speaker of the House (and with whom Cantor has never been on the best of terms).

Cantor’s particular influence stems from his control—along with another pro-Israeli hardliner, former Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.)—of a secretive and well-funded political action committee, the American Action Network (AAN), run by Cantor’s close advisor and former chief of staff, Rob Collins.

Cantor’s AAN operation is believed to have raised up to $25 million this past year and spent at least $16 million in waging independent expenditures on behalf of Cantor-approved Republican candidates in the recent election.

On Oct. 25 even The Washington Post was moved to describe AAN as “mysterious” and described Collins as one of “a small circle of operatives with the coveted expertise of actually running such secretive organizations.”

Collins himself has said, “I have a weird gift for raising money.”

That gift has given new power to Cantor, who played a major part though AAN in orchestrating the GOP victory, bankrolled by well-heeled contributors whose names are not required to be revealed to the Federal Election Commission.

It is no coincidence that two other, similar fundraising ventures—American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS, both run by former George W. Bush operative Karl Rove—share offices with Cantor’s AAN. Ellen Miler of the Sunlight Foundation said the massive spending by such groups in the 2010 elections is the “how-to” for the 2012 election.

“It’s how to use corporate money, how to use secret money, to buy elections,” she said. “It’s going to be no holds barred.”

The Non-Existent Contract
Between The US & The Unfinished State Of Israel
By Jim Kirwan
11-15-10

For the last sixty-two years the relationship between the so-called state of Israel and theUnited States has supposedly been based upon a "special relationship." However there is no treaty, no written contract, nothing, nada, zip that obligates the United States to do anything with regard to the still unfinished state of Israel.

How much has this 'special relationship' cost the United States in money, in American lives, or in the global destruction of America's reputation in the world? It might be an overstatement to use the word "everything" but not by much!

When I first began to write about this continuing crime against Americans 'we' had unofficially already given Israel over thirteen trillion dollars. That was eight years ago; and that figure fails to include some of the largest bequests that came from the US Black-Budget and Special Operations. I wondered then about this mythical contract which could explain this very special relationship, that has now almost completely destroyed the integrity of the United States in Foreign Affairs, in US Military-Intelligence (An oxymoron, by any standard): Not to mention all the continuing damage these various "negotiations and fraudulent elections" in Palestine have done to discredit everything the US says; on any topic that is focused on the crucible of Middle-Eastern affairs and beyond.

Today I tried again to locate any document that could spell out this "special relationship" and at least as far as the Internet is concerned there is still no such document!

Given the tremendous failures of all US Policies, in the region, over the last 62 years: Beginning with 'Dirty-Harry' Truman who introduced the artificial creation of the State of Israel at the United Nations: It would seem that instead of a "special relationship" the United States ought to be demanding that the Walls of Separation, built by Israel within Palestine, must be obliterated as a first condition.

In the absence of this act: The total destruction of that WALL that would free the Palestinians within their own country; Israel should to be facing a massive US retaliatory invasion by land, by sea and from the air for what they have done and continue to do, in contravention of American and International Law, to the people of Palestine. The Apartheid, one-party Zionist-state of Israel continues to attempt to genocide the Palestinians while committing war-crimes unending-against an illegally captive people-while the world looks on in disgust!

Today America is discussing just how much more blackmail to pay Israel in order to get the barbarians in charge of that unholy-nest of Outlaws, to hold off on new and evermore-illegal construction of even more "Israeli-settlements" inside occupied Palestine.

The Baghdad Cathedral Massacre: Zionist Fingerprints All Over
by Jonathan Azaziah

Prior to the fascist, destructive, genocidal US-UK-Israeli occupation of Iraq, Sunni and Shia, Muslims and Christians, Arabs and Kurds lived together in a harmonious atmosphere of brotherhood and unity that paralleled that of occupied Palestine before the Zionist occupation in 1948. It is egregious. Disgusting. Despicable. Ignorant. Absurd. And erroneous on every factual basis to assert that the aforementioned ethnic and religious groups are now massacring each other, when in reality, they are being massacred by the murderous occupation armies.

Dividing Iraq via partition and driving it into a hell of ethnic cleansing was a Zionist plot that was originally designed in 1982 by Israeli foreign policy advisor Oded Yinon. The policies for destabilizing Iraq were reestablished in the ‘Clean Break’ papers written for mass murderer Benjamin Netanyahu by Zionist spy Richard Perle and several Zionist war criminals including Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, Meyrav Wurmser and Robert Loewenberg. Agents of the international terrorist group known as Mossad have been operating in Iraq as early as the 1950s, when the Zionist entity engaged in a false flag campaign of terror against the Iraqi-Jewish community. It has always been the absolute goal of the illegitimate usurping entity to destroy Iraq as a nation, so it can bring its ‘Greater Israel’ dream to fruition, settling its colonial extremists on the banks of the ancient Tigris and Euphrates rivers.

As is the case with every bombing, kidnaping, robbery, rape, assault and murder in occupied Iraq, not a single suspect was taken into custody by the malicious Western forces of the US and UK, nor the puppet forces of the disgraceful Iraqi regime. All of the blasts in Karada (as well as everywhere else in Iraq) were the products of IEDs and car bombs. The Zionist media propagates a ridiculous theory that the car bombs are the work of ‘Islamic militant’ suicide bombers, and that the IEDs are explosives made from scratch by the same militants. This is an insult to anyone with a functioning brain. The sophisticated and destructive force of an IED, as well as the meticulousness and strategic placing of car bombs throughout Iraq, especially in Karada, can only be the work of one group in the world: the Mossad

In late September of 2003, a private military contractor named Zapata Engineering began operating in occupied Iraq with a $200 million contract from the Pentagon; its function was to destroy unusable Iraqi munitions and store usable munitions in American safe houses. Zapata Engineering received another contract for over $32 million in February of 2004 from the Army Corps of Engineers. The relationship between the US occupying army and Zapata turned sour in 2005 however, when 19 of its employees were arrested by Marines after firing on American checkpoints. The Zapata contractors were carrying illegal weapons, which the US military identified as anti-tank weapons. The weapons identified were the rifles of Rafael Advanced Systems Limited, the chief weapons manufacturer of the Zionist entity. When the Marines took the Zapata employees into custody, the detainees claimed they were humiliated and the Marines ripped their religious medallions off of their necks; the symbol on those religious medallions was the six-pointed star found on the flag of the Zionist entity
