I have a had another take on this. When a large enough astroid hits it actually cooks the ntire earth because of all the debris that goes up and comes back down cauing friction. This is what they think actually killed the dinosaurs...not the actualy impact or the earthquakes or the tidal waves but the cooking of the atmopshere. The only safe place would be orbiting the earth until the cooking stopped....


that nonsense was debunked by a young british girl scientist, and a pretty one at that too, who decided to go around the world looking for charcoal at the KT boundary.

guess what? she only found it down range from the impact, in the USA, where the angled thermal blast wave did indeed cook everything, and nowhere else.
