I have noticed that just with the naked eye, the sun seems to be getting a lot brighter.
 Quoting: knoxvillerocks

The sun startled me when I went out today around noon here in Texas.

It was radiant white and dazzling; extremely hot on the bare skin.

The brightness made me wince.

It was not normal.

I've been seeing thread after thread about this same thing. I agree! I remember the sun being a much more yellow hue. It seems SO bright and piercing now, like it goes right through your body. I've lived in Florida all my life and I can absolutely say without a doubt that the sun seems brighter now than two ears ago and much more than five years ago.

I was talking to my dad a couple of weeks back, and he is 83 and he asked me if the sun was brighter.

I remember being able to cover my brow with my hand and being able to look towards it some (not into directly) but now you cant even get into the vacenity without it's harsh glare.

And yes, the sun used to be yellow but is so damn bright white now. Which is odd because our current solar cycle 24 has been low on sunspots.

I know sunspots have nothing to do with the brightness of the sun, but the sun's magnitism is always weakening. I wonder if the reduction of its magnetic field has something to do with it.

ive been thinking the same thing. today in NY the sky was clear, the sun was so bright (white) and hot on the skin. its mid NOV and we had a 70 degree day. i cant even get close to looking in the general direction of the sun.

You are correct.

The Sun used to be yellow.

Driving into the setting/rising Sun without very dark sunglasses is practically impossible.

When I was very young, hardly anybody wore sunglasses.
They'd put the visor down in the car... and all was okay.

Re: Is the sun getting a lot *BRIGHTER* or is it just me? why would it get bright like that?
I left a dark colored shirt in the window for about a month that not all fabric caught the morning sun, no sun noon and on. The part that did catch those rays, turned almost white like it was bleached. The rest exactly the same deep dark blue. The sun bleached it almost white in a matter of days with only the morning lights rays.
That, I am not used to from the past. I used to fish everyday after work and on weekends. It is not uncommon to have had any of my shirts dropped on the deck for those same hrs and not have any show these same conditions.
This leads me to believe the rays are stronger, a different type of ray or spectrum that caused this. I saw a neighbor with a sweatshirt same color and same effect. I asked him how it happened and was about same as mine. He had left it on his wood pile almost a month. Said the part the sun hit turned white while rest stayed blue. "Damnedest thing I ever saw"

Wow! I think you might be on to something. I need to check out which rays cause fabrics to bleach. Anyone know? This sounds like a test we can actually do ourselves to check how strong the sun really is right now. I know personally that it used to take quite a long time for a shirt to sun-bleach. I think I'm going to try this tomorrow.

I can take some pictures that should show it easy enough on 2 shirts that laid on that table. Same effect but different parts affected. Wouldn't be much to shout that neighbor and get a pic of his sweatshirt also. Would have to be in a few days. At least one of my shirts is in the basement right now, fixing to be washed. Other I am not sure where I put it, not in the sun though.

It happens fast, I know that. And again, not common when I know I have exposed these same brand IBEW work shirts to far more rays for longer times and never seen this happen before. My 2 have not been washed since I found them that way, I left them. Was going to wash one when the neighbor said didn't work on his.

Just realized this wasn't perfectly clear when I re-read it.

My 2 shirts were close to the window sill , but inside, his was outside on the log pile.

Mine had the same effect his had, even through the window glass and for less time. Mine only saw morning light, his all day. Glass is known to deflect some light rays, but not the ones that caused the bleaching.

Re: Is the sun getting a lot *BRIGHTER* or is it just me? why would it get bright like that?
It was on that shelf for 30 days, rain or shine, so about 5 hrs a day for about 30 days. But there was several rainy days in that month.
30 x 5 = 150 - 20% for rain. 20% x 150 = 30 so approximately 120 hrs.
My neighbors sweat shirt is worse seeing as it was all day in the sun about the same days, his is almost white in similar pattern.

His was an average 8 counting shade from trees(maybe) and cloud/rain days.
8 x 30 = 240

The sun will continue to increase in intensity and heat.

Revelation 16:8-9

8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. 9 They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.

Hello I am new to this forum so please be kind.
I take a lot of pictures. I love taking pictures of nature and have been doing so for many years. I have noticed that just with the naked eye, the sun seems to be getting a lot brighter. Is there a good reason for this. I realized this about a month ago. I was taking photos of my son's soccer games and no matter what day I took a photo of the sun, it was so very bright there was a line coming up and down the center of the photo in front of the sun. It did not matter the angle. Just the other day I was driving and it blinded me even with glasses on. I have been driving for many years and have never ever seen it as such. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I have no idea why? Is it normal? should I worry? I was taking a video of contrails and chemtrails for youtube when I noticed how bright it was again today...nuts
I am not some crazy person but just want someone else's input....
I have photos but have no idea how to post them. The photos are of like five different days.

The Sun IS getting brighter......that's because it's about to burn out!

Many years ago when I worked in an Assay Office, running assay's on precious metals; I witness an interesting phenomenon: During the cupel process when a piece of gold was about to finish(separate from the lead, in the oven).......it would flare up into a very bright little ball of flame, and then suddenly solidify!

The Sun is basically doing the same thing.....only in a different way!

Just a quick thought on this. It is not the sun getting brighter/whiter...it is the atmosphere that is making it look brighter/whiter.

It also seems to be causing the trees to die.. at least here in Vancouver. And yes I am well aware that its fall and the trees have lost their leaves due to this. I am talking about in the summer though. Lots of trees dying off.

actually, the sun appears brighter because on the equatorial plain, it has moved back directly over head versus north or south of the equator. Just like the moon. Its been so bright the past 5 nights that I thought it was the sun rising up from the west when the moon was setting.

Its a seasonal thing. It happens. Nothing to get hung about.
