Re: Anyone have unexplainable childhood memories, that as adults you know can't be real.
I was born prematrely, and my mother had a serious illness right after my birth, so I did not have much early mothering

However, I remember very clearly these 3 young women who would come and visit with me

They were maybe, to me about 13 - 15, and were very sweet, and were always dressed in lilac

I was a shy kid, and would spend most of my time alone, in the corner of the schoolyard, or the corner of our garden...and yet these girls would be there with me

And then one day I remember them coming up to me to say they were going away "for a while"

I was panicking, and asked them if I would ever see them again.

They said of course, and giggled, and said I would see them again in the summer...

but I never did see them again

in addition, no one else seems to remember having seen them

but the day of their firnal appearance still stand out to me, as if it happened yesterday

I have no idea who or what they were. I think they were protective, they seemed very kind and always seemed able to almost read my mood, but who or what they were, I have no idea

and that's my weird little childhood story, lol

Re: Anyone have unexplainable childhood memories, that as adults you know can't be real.
My sister and I were in our living room watching the magic garden. I was about 4 so she was around 7. We heard loud footsteps coming up the basement (my parents were both sleeping) and then we both saw the door knob turning. We ran to my parents bedroom. When they looked (I only remember this part now bc my mom tells us) it could not have been a person bc all the windows were nailed shut and still are to this day. Freaky. We both vividly remember this More crazy things but my mom told me from a very early age I would ask when we would be going back to our old house. THe one by the big red bridge. But I never lived any where else but my house in new York. Past life?

When I was 4 or 5 we lived in some apartments. Underneath was a shop.
One night my mother and brother got up with in a state and were going downstairs as the shopkeeper had been shot.
I did not want to be left alone but they would not let me come.
I was scared and unable to sleep.
The toys on my shelf started moving and singing songs to me.
They were making me laugh.

When they returned and I told them they looked at each other knowingly, but of course the toys had returned to toys.
I wish Harmony, Love, Truth and Justice for all my brothers and sisters. With the United forces of the silent vibrations of our thoughts, we are strong, healthy and happy thus making a link of universal fraternity..

My parents were in the military and I was moved around with them every 2 years for my entire childhood, but "they" always found me, easily.

I'll share one more. I wasn't really little, though, I was about 14 years old.

There were some elderly people near my school who needed someone to come water their plants for them while they were away for a month on a trip. They had a beautiful yard that had been featured in many magazines and they had to train me for about a week everyday before they left because each type of plant needed particular care on particular schedules.

Anyway, they left on their trip and I rode my bike to their house everyday after school to take care of the garden. It took a few hours each day, but I didn't mind because it was so beautiful and peaceful there. And they said I could eat any of the strawberries that ripened:)

About three weeks into the job, I was startled by a different old woman coming out of the house. They had never told me anyone would be staying there.

Anyway, this woman was extremely kind, grandmother type and she smiled and said she was the sister of the woman who lived there. So I thought nothing of it. But she was very interested in talking to me. So we sat and talked for what seemed an hour and the whole time she was just interested in talking about my views on life and my feelings. I wasn't use to anyone wanting such deep discussion with me, but she was so easy to talk to. I ended up talking to her like I knew her for years. I told her my concerns about nuclear war and how nothing seemed to matter since we were all probably going to get nuked. (These were the cold war years in the 80's)

Then she started saying things to me that I never ever forgot. She started telling me that life was whatever I made it and if I wanted to imagine that it would be beautiful and good, then it would be. But if I dwell on the scary, the the scary would happen. Basically she was teaching me the power of my thoughts in shaping my future. It was very profound to me at that age and it gave me the ability to believe I could have any life I wanted.

Then she went back into the house and I never saw her again.

When the old couple got back from their trip, I told the wife that I enjoyed meeting her sister.

She looked at me strange and said she did not have a sister.

I then asked if they had someone staying in the house while they were gone and they said no. I was stumped as to who that woman could have been.

Later, in my 20's, I was reading a book on angel visits. These were experiences of people who were helped by an angel disguised as a human, and I immediately thought of what happened to me at 14. I wondered if that old woman was an angel, coming to me at a time in my life when I was losing hope for my future and maybe could have taken a more wreckless path in my teenage years.

great story!

thank you so much for sharing it

Really wish there was more of this kind of stuff here on this website instead of so much of the fear and paranoia inducing stuff

Wonderful experience you had

This sounds very similar to a celebrity ghost story Daryl Hannah told on the show. She was a weird kid that didn't talk and everyone thought she was autistic. She had a similar experience with an older kind lady that brought her out of her shell and she started talking and interacting normally after that.

She and her mom tried to find the house and lady a few days later and they never did. Nothing was there but empty land where she had found the house and talked with the lady. It was like it couldn't have happened but it did.

Does anyone have any kind of memories about being able to slow down time when they were a kid?

..or any mysterious memories about life before a serious injury or NDE?

I know it sounds stupid but I used to slow down time and do other stuff when I was really young, but when was 8 I had a serious head injury and it's literally the ONLY memory I have of my childhood (before 8 y/o anyway)

What did you have to do to start the process of slowing down time. What were the effects ? How do you know time slowed ? Did it happen with other people around ? Very intriguing.

Re: Anyone have unexplainable childhood memories, that as adults you know can't be real.
I woke in the middle of the night lying on the floor in my closet - covered in some kind of slimy liquid. I didn't know what to make of it. Perhaps I had a bad dream and sweat alot?! I did have a habit of sleep walking as well….

I went back to my bed and pulled back the sheet (Summer - no blankets) and was shocked to see my silhouette on the bedspread. Instead of a wet spot where my body laid, the wet spot was all around the dry outline of my body! It looked like somebody spray painted me while I was in bed, then I got out - or was removed...

I was so scared I ran into my parent's room screaming. My Dad told me to get out and shut up. I was afraid to go back into my room, so i turned on the TV and spent the rest of the night in the living room.

In the morning, I went back into my room and the sheets were dry - I did have a ceiling fan going full speed that night. I had some residue on my skin that I couldn't identify (skin felt real tight) but I never told my parents. Who would believe me?

Here's my contribution:

I used to take my pocket money down to a small kiosk right across the road from where I lived to buy candy. But one day when I got there, the kiosk simply didn't exist. The spot where it used to stand had an old weather-worn and half overgrown concrete spot where a kiosk had once been, but it didn't look like anything had been there for many years.

I was totally shocked and ran home and told mom about it. But she didn't know what I was talking about, she had never seen a kiosk there!

Creepy!

Years ago I was in a library reading a book. (The 9th floor by the way) when I looked out of the window and there was a guy outside, floating in the air watching me. I can still see him to this day. Suddenly the room flashed with light and he was gone. It was like he could fly.
Later I found out my family has had a history of alien encounters. They didn't tell me because they thought it was something just they encountered.
It blew their minds when I started telling them I was being abducted.

At the ripe age of 8 the kids in my apartment complex and I used to play chips patrol in the court yards between buildings.

One day a very pale - bald boy showed up to play. So we picked teams and the imaginary chase was on. After a few minutes of cops and robbers... The new pale kid ran his green machine bigwheel into a concrete bench. He jumped up and ran behind a line of trees.

Worried I followed to see if he was ok. What I saw next, I'll never forget. I found the kid, he was bent over and had his hand around his ankle.

I asked if he was ok, he removed his hand, and revealed a hole in ankle about 3 inches wide. Inside that hole were various tubes and wires.

I screamed at this sight and ran straight home.
Told my mom, and she and I went looking for the boy.
He was nowhere to be found.
Ever again.

My mom chalked it up to my imagination.

But to this day I know what I saw.

I'll tell you something REALLY strange, I posted a description of an event here on this thread that happened when I was seven years old and for some reason it has been deleted, as have the posts that quoted it.

The event I described wasn't really any more strange than many of the recollections here, but what was different I suppose is that I am certain it was real.

Re: Anyone have unexplainable childhood memories, that as adults you know can't be real.

when I was about eight at night while everyone slept I floated. It was very vivid, to this day, and I am 50 now. I Floated over each of my siblings beds, looking down at them sleeping, through doors and downstairs, through the living room> Then there is a gap> Vague memories of outside, night and stars> And then the next clear memory is of the float back upstairs to my bed.

This "dream" and the scenario you recall happening in your new bedroom are very, very reminiscent of the scenarios I've read, taken from the Grey / E.T. abduction literature.

I've had "dreams" of floating myself, and also believe to have had experiences with non-human "others".

I have other memories that most definitely seem to have been real (or at the very least have a very likely chance of having happened, in retrospect), and could be screen memories for similar contact with the unknown, couched in the visage of more familiar personages and circumstances.

There must be more of us....

Yep I was also a sleep talker, one night my brother was awake in another room listening to my garble, and then I suddenly said loudly his name and "I know you are listening to me". He told me later he freaked out and pulled the blanket over his head. However my memory the next day was of floating around his bed and having fun (out of body) because I knew he was awake and listening to me, I said what I said to kinda say hey isn't this cool I can do this but when he reacted to my words it gave me a fright too and I in that moment felt sad that I had scared him

At 13 we moved, and as the only girl I always had my own room. I claimed the "best" room, and got it. My brothers were mad, it was the biggest room, closest to the bathroom too. Very first night sleeping there I was awakened by what I thought was one of my brothers. I said Duane what are you doing? It was a vague dark shape on the other side of the room. When I spoke it straightened, grew taller and as it turned I saw the face had this like faint sickly glow. I went under the covers. I was seriously too scared to make a sound. It really does happen lol too scared to even sqeak. From under the blanket I waited and listened, afraid to even breathe. I didn't hear a sound. No heavy breathing, no footsteps, no rustle of clothing, nothing. Finally I pulled the blanket down, ever so carefully, just a tiny little bit, to peep out , Just one little corner of my eye. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH the glowing face was RIGHT THERE< IN MY FACE> I almost shit. I pulled the blanket back up, shaking, and trying to make a noise, which crying and the need to breathe did finally result in some noises making it out. I don't know how much time passed while I laid there shivering sniveling and afraid to make a sound. The last thing I wanted to do was bring the blanket down again. I don't remember what the words were, or even if they were words when my vocal chords finally let sound escape. I screamed bloody murder from under that blanket lol. Help, there's a glowing guy, more screams. The door opened, and the light flicked on, and when I came out from under the blanket the glow bastard was gone:) I forgot to mention this was a bedroom on the second floor. I ran out of there, slept on the hallway floor that night. Next day I traded my brother for his much smaller room.

I can remember this from a very young age, also my older brother by 2 years vaguely remebers it too, was it real or just imagination?

I was about 5, my brother 7, well we were in my brothers bedroom playing on his bed, it must of been night time, because it was dark. Well, next thing you know the whole room was lit up by a brilliant white light. Then one of the walls seemed to melt, whatever, and become a door or something. Then I think 2 tall blonde haired people came in the room through the wall, cannot remember if the spoke to us, but they took us to their spaceship or something. I remember one of these blonde haired people taking us round this ship and they took us to what you would call the cockpit/helm. They were showing us all these constellations and stars, either on a map or pointing through a window, and pointing to where they came from. I do not remember feeling scared or anything. Anyway, next thing you know me and my brother were back in his bedroom.
But the funny thing is, after this, my brother started to get panic attacks, breathlessness like asthma when being in that room, so eventually, my parents had to move him out of that room and into another, he did not like going in his old bedroom again.

Sorry for the long post.

I had two of them. One either side of me. They made noises that sounded like reverberated muttering with added sound effects. My head was pulled side to side as each one spoke. They were kind of just out of my view behind my head. Terrified, paralized, eventually I 'broke free' sat up and screemed. No sound came out of my mouth.

I was not too young, maybe eight, audaciously climbing a small hill, more of a cliff. As I was hauling myself onto the top, a large black dog came racing towards me, and I fell back down yelling. Only there was no dog, and there was no possibility of a dog, no space for it. I couldn't process the situation. Years later I found a whole mythos to do with seeing black dogs. My guess now is someone died at the base of the cliff (likely drowned), and didn't want an obnoxious small child invading their domain.

My paranormal experiences just left puzzled at the time - they are almost banal, but irrefutable, and illogical from an everyday perspective.

The people posting about being able to float or fly is exactly the same for me! That's really weird, I wonder if there is any explanation for such??

I have memorys from when I was about 5 or 6 years old in that I could fly, I'm 47 years old now and I can recall myself flying in the back yard, now something that made an impression on me in later in my life when I was in my early 30's, I had a friend whom was a little on the odd side, he was a computer nerd of sorts but in any case he out of the blue asked me if when I was young if I could "fly" so I told him yes and described it. What was weird is that he agreed with me and told me that he too could fly but thus conversation stopped suddenly and neither one is mention it again. It was weird that out of the blue he asked me about it and dropped the subject.

So what is it with these youngs memorys of being able to fly? I do remember that when I had this ability to "fly", that a 2 or 3 later when I was perhaps 6 years old that I would try to fly like I dis when I was younger that I would get frustrated that when u would try to fly, I couldn't do any more.

From the age of about 6-10 yrs old, i would have a strange feeling come over me from time to time.. In hindsight, it felt like for a few seconds, i could feel that I was only in my body temporarily during this earth incarnation(of course at the time in didnt think like that).. I remember repeating the phrase in my head during these episodes, which lasted about 30sec to 1min, "i'm not me, i'm not me, i'm not me" weird huh? again thinking back now the feeling was like "i'm not really this body" it was very vivid and i still remember the last time it happened clearly.. i was about 10yrs and was taking a pee looking at the wall behind the toilet.. that was 22yrs ago..
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1045784

I used to have a similar experience, a feeling of depersonalization. If I looked at myself in the mirror too long, I would just start staring and thinking over and over "I can't believe that I look like this, I can't believe that I look like this." Now, there is nothing odd about the way i look, but it was as if I wasn't supposed to be in this body, or maybe wasn't supposed to be who I was.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1178350

Wow, okay, I'd forgotten about this until reading the above. My parents' house was about half a block from the elementary school, and we could always hear the kids outside at recess, playing and yelling. It must have been a rare sick day in my very early school years, because I was at home in the living room, listening to them outside playing at lunchtime. I'd always been envious of the boys because they had the best games, could run and play sports, be noisy and get dirty, while I had to stay clean, wear stupid clothes with ruffles and lace, and "act like a little lady."

I was griping to myself about this, again, when the thought came into my mind, in these words: "You'd better get used to it. You're in a girl's body." I didn't like it, but like a good Taurus, saw the logic, even at that young age, and consciously made peace with that fact.

I was also absolutely certain that I should have had straight, black hair, not wavy blonde, and felt like I'd gotten cheated out of that, too.

What a great thread! Thanks for starting it, and thanks for the fascinating stories, so far, and I'm not even halfway through.

very disturbing and sad that one poster already sited 'censor' of posts on this thread...

this is already a thread about 'strange' memories...

having posts erase would futher tamper with these realities...

but the 'f%(^Y' that do those types of things don't care.

It is my hope and prayer that the many here find peace for concerning the 'events' they are 'remembering/dreaming'...

Lord, I thank you that you who are in me, through faith in Jesus Christ of Nazareth, is greater than he that is inthe world...he that has horns, he that wears hats and carries brief cases, them that disolve walls, wether they be grey or green or have glowing eyes or sharp teeth...whether they spin webs of silk or webs of lies, Father God, you rule supreme and are our Heavenly Father who loves us more than we can know...you created all things in heaven and earth and all that is in the earth...every knee shall bow to your son...whether half horse/half man, whether mechanical, or of another dimension...

Lord I thank you that this gives me peace...from the time I was a child and things went bump in the night, lights where there could be none, shadows when there was no sun, Father, I thank you that you were there in my dreams, there in the darkest nights, there when others ment harm, there when I thought I could go no further...

Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world...

Amen...

In the name of Jesus...I have seen these things flee, I have had victory in my life, I have had both physical and emotional wounds healed...my family has been healed...

even my sister who had alot of damage from what was done to her...

Our children have even been protected from attack...

thank you Lord!

When I was in first grade the principle came into our class with three other men (all wearing suits, but back then every man wore a suit) and they were looking for kids with blue 'dots' in their palms.

The kid next to me had a blue dot in the middle of his left palm it was about the diameter of a nickle and a light bluish tint - sort of like the tint of the veins on white people.

The three men looked at all of our hands, that kid was the only one who had a blue mark. He was taken away. That was the last I ever of the kid.

When ever any of us kids talked about it after that, our teacher called us "little liar(s)". My Mother didn't know anything about it and said that it must have been my imagination.

Of course other kids in my class had this same imagination...

I always heard large noises in the distance that i was sure was brontosourous steps. After the sun went down I was fearful the dinasour would come get me and step on me.

Sure it was probably fear of the dark....but I was sure I heard the feet crashing in the distance. I guess that is how I processed the fear. (put an explaination to it).

I have one thing that I keep remembering that is pretty freaky but would be cool if it was true. We used to go to the woods and spent alot of time exploring a creek.

One day I found a clay "bowl depression" with very oval but round rocks in it with water running over it. I was convinced they were dinasour eggs but at the time didn't pick they up because my dad was in trouble and almost fell into quicksand.

I'd love to go back to that spot and see if I can find those eggs (and hopefully they are dinasour eggs).

Of course being in a relatively shallow stream would almost be impossible for them to even be 100's of years old in my mind. The indians in the area hundreds of years ago even made a painting on the side of a cliff of a "PIASA" bird which looks alot like a pteredactyl.

once while I was in school I kinda zoned out and all the sudden the corners of my eyes started seeing different things until my whole vision was of the same class room but covered in golden / silver electronic looking things.

also I used to always see techno-colored gnomes.
