I know most people say they have to be themselves. which is fine. but dealing with the public, i think people should try to have some self respect and show some common courtesy.

Not at all....

Most people are devoid of any manners because it requires that they think of someone else besides themselves.

The truth is that having good manners aka "class" is one of the nicest things you can do for yourself, giving you control of your environment, and extending graciousness to everyone around you.
