Are they getting rid of the naked body scanners/Tattoo machines? If no, then this is all for naught, you'll still be groped and fondled and tattooed by the body signature capturing scanners.

What difference does it make if TSA does it or some private company does it?

The scanners must be optional.. Not every airport will purchase them. Some airports don't have them now and have said they don't want them due to "problems" with them.

Obviously the airports OPT-ing out are doing because the screening procedures will be less invasive....

Did you read the article? Whoever takes over has to use the naked body scanners/tattoo machines and follow TSA guidelines. This is no change. Simply a change in uniforms.

Unfortunately, the regulations have to change or we gain nothing. Ron Paul is introducing the Air Traveler Dignity Act that would put a stop to all this nonsense. It wouldn't matter if it's TSA or a private security company doing the screening because it's not who does it but how it's being done. No free person should have to bow down to these levels and choose between radiation or humiliation.
This is our line in the sand and if the government gets away with it, Nazi Germany will look like a free country to our children and grandchildren. Is that the America you would choose for future generations?
We simply cannot keep surrendering our freedoms to the Nazi government for so called security.
Fastforward and we see these scanners everywhere and cancer is up 10,000% or more. A little late to do anything about it then.
But the government will say it was for your own good and it kept you safe from the terrorists because you never got blown up in an airplane.

The TSA screening is completely inconsistent . Some airports are much more lax then others. I guarantee you that the airports that OPT-OUT are going to turn a blind eye to the fascist TSA policies..
