My brothers name is Michael Francis Middleton too. We are from Australia. My father immigrated to Australia in 1928 as a 16 year old from North Riding, Yorkshire against familys wishes. My grandfather was George Edward, he had five sibblings. His father was William Middleton of Yorkshire. He married a Mary Jane Thomas. My grandmothers name was Annie Francis Pattinson of Guisborough, her marriage to my grandfather disolved in 1916. I am in your vintage, but born in Australia. We are desperately trying to obtain information on my grandmother and any other children born. I know one of her children outside the marriage was registered as my grandfathers child with the name Middleton. Others could have followed.
