Anonymous Coward User ID: 889802 United States 11/19/2010 07:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oregon Senator Wyden effectively kills Internet censorship bill Quoting: jermIt's too early to say for sure, but Oregon Senator Ron Wyden could very well go down in the history books as the man who saved the Internet. A bill that critics say would have given the government power to censor the Internet will not pass this year thanks to the Oregon Democrat, who announced his opposition during a recent committee hearing. Individual Senators can place holds on pending legislation, in this case meaning proponents of the bill will be forced to reintroduce the measure and will not be able to proceed until the next Congress convenes. HL Shancken User ID: 887100 United States 11/19/2010 08:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Republicans who support this legislation are easily identified by mainstream politics watchers as RINOs, but it is my contention that the truth about them is far worse than that. They are agents controlled by a foreign power. The control is gained via blackmail or other coercive means, and once achieved is never relinquished. The facts of the individual cases will perhaps never be known, but the method of operation of Soviet intelligence is known, and has been employed against these Americans and many, many others. When you understand that the Soviets won the Cold War you understand the world. A revolution worth joining. Holistic medicine's finest hour. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1163142 United States 11/19/2010 08:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Actually I will be shocked if the final vote ends up with Wyden killing this bill. I live in Oregon and have petitioned him over and over on various issues that I consider extreme far left. He always responded that it was for the good of the country. If he does stay on this current path I be ecstatic. |
