As I read through these posts I get the feeling/impression that a lot of you WANT a war. Having been there and done that I can assure you, like most of the grunts hitting the rice fields for the first time, they, too, wanted to fire their "deadly weapons" and kill the "bad guy." All that vanished in literally a heart beat when they/you realize not only are they shooting back -- to kill -- but folks all around you, maybe even you, feel the hot lead tearing at your insides. Am I afraid of going to war again? Absolutely. Two tours of Viet Nam cured me of any desire to pick up another firearm. Would I do it in defense of myself, family, CLOSE friends or country if the stuff hits the fan? In another heartbeat. We all should be on our knees praying. Do I think peace will come? Not a chance.
