All the people on here complaining about the TSA need to realise something...

You're taking a narrow view... I travel constantly for work, and I mean for WORK, not BUSINESS... that means I fly around with a toolcase and perform actual physical labor... kinda hard to do that over the phone! Also, if you haven't noticed, there is a lack of talent & work ethic in vast areas of the country.., that's why I flew from MN to Manhattan 15 times last year... our clients would rather pay a minimum of $3,000 just for my travel expenses then hire somebody locally to do the work. What I do is not exactly rocket surgery, I'm in the freakin' AV industry! It's just that MOST people suck and don't have the integrity to do the job right. Now, I also went at least 15 other out of state locations last year... if I drove to all of them, I would be on the road constantly and never see my wife and kids. Also, I did projects in Hawaii, India, and China... I don't know if you've checked a map lately, but we don't live on Pangea... the continents are separated by water now... kinda hard to drive there... where are you from, by the way? I have a hunch just by your mentality...




how do you get the tool case past security?

they seriously pay $3000 to fly you to the most populated city in the country, because they can't find someone local? wow. that's awesome man. Even when you can bittorrent final cut?

Tools are checked luggage, they get a TSA search every time... they leave a little slip to let you know.... it costs about $3,000 including airfare, hotel, per diem, cab fare, baggage.... not including labor @ $65 per hour. I would not have guessed that you were from MN... what part!?

I do video editing. After Effects, some 3D, voice overs, foreign language subtitles, DVD authoring. I would really prefer to record music, but can't find any bands with money, so I took a part-time corporate post production job.
