I am settling this right now. After reading this thread I went to find out.

Both Christmas and the Pagan holiday were celebrated in the month of December. They overlapped, one was a month long, it became confusing for all so the Vatican settled it once and for all. The date of Christmas was to be spent officially for both celebrations, with some small differences as the 12 days of Christmas and another one or two dates during the month of December.

So when we see all this pagan ritual info about Christmas we get oonfused why would that be happening or did happen? They are different celebrations and Christmas still stands.

There was a Saint Nicholas also and he was from Turkey.

I still get free presents.

The main problem with Christmas is that it matches our unbalanced and unjust society. The least deserving of children get the most , while the poor kids sit and wonder why Santa Claus never came to their house. At a very early age this ingrains into them a sense that being good is not really rewarded.
Christmas should be a time when we show charity towards those who have nothing, and the little that is actually dine is shameful.
