When i made it vocal my lack of belief i was blacklisted and was never able to get a job there.

Had to move someplace more reasonable.

Although the LDS won't be outwardly mean, it will be hard to make friends.

They tend to be polite, even gracious to non LDS, but they don't associate with them on a more personal level.

The weather is nice, we go up that way to play in their bb tournaments. It's always 20 degrees cooler than Vegas in the summer.

heck, it can't be that bad? sounds like an American taliban. Last I heard we have a USA Constitution.

Its not just religious extremists from overseas that dont care about the constitution.

You must experience it to fully understand.

If you are clean cut and white, there will be little discernible discrimination.

You will just be excluded or not invited to events. If a LDS friend gets married, you will never be allowed in the temple. You will never get any sort of decent job.

There will also be constant attempts to convert you. Until you put your foot down. Then it will get more uncomfortable.

Obviously, you have not lived in a Mormon area.

You will learn the hard way, though, if you move there.

LDS lawyers will rarely go up against the Church because they know it will be held against them. I, too, discovered that through hard experience. Mormons are okay if you're not dependent on jobs, school systems or courts.

Last I heard Utah is part of USA, heck, when the economy collapses what the hell will happen to non Mormons . Not good.

I've never lived in majority Mormon place, but there are a lot of Mormons here and they have always seemed like kind, friendly people to me.

I am a physician and I married a Mormon woman. Because of my income and education, although I refused to convert, the LDS neighbors treated me with great deference and respect. I have, however, seen them be very unkind to a young couple where the husband was NOT Mormon and refused to convert- this kid could not get a job anywhere in town and half of the Mormons would not even speak to him. I hired him and sent him to Medical Tech training and then boosted his salary up to over 60k per year. Suddenly the Mormons were warm and welcoming to him! They knew if they could get him to convert and start tithing, it would be good for six grand a year or more! The kid was smart enough to see thru their duplicitous bullshit and refused to have anything to do with them. Mormons are very clannish and they do not like outsiders. Suited me fine because I didn't like any of them, either.

No state income tax in Nevada. But Utah is soooooo pretty.

St George is a convenient gateway to Zion National Park, and to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It is also within easy driving distance of Bryce Canyon National Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument. The city makes a great base came for day trips to any of these areas, or a good starting point for national park excursions.

The Mormons are friendly. Most of them have no real clue as to their accurate church history. So, even when they are trying to convert you, they are not actively being deceptive. They simply don't know because they are forbidden from using logic and knowledge versus "feeling" things out by the power of the Holy Ghost.
