Quoting: Coolhandluke74Honestly coolhand, you're an ass. I'm asking for help in asking for something that would make my father happy. Not me, get it?!?! He's in an uncomfortable position with his girlfriend, and I don't know what to do. He asked what I want, I don't know what to tell him. He doesn't want to pay less than $50, and I know he can't do more than $100 or his girlfriend would have his hide. What I was trying to ask was what can I tell him? I want to make him happy without getting him in trouble with his skank girlfriend. If you purely misunderstood what I was asking, then I apologize for calling you an ass. If you didn't, then you're still an ass. He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1064293This!!!! Have dinner with you dad somewhere before, and enjoy the evening with him. Try to make peace with his girlfriend, maybe that will be your christmas merical It's not about making peace, I've been nothing but loving towards her (regardless of the pain it causes me). She hates the time that my father tries to spend with me, and everytime he sees me she snarks about it. Nothing to do with me, but I can't fix her. I try to see my father as much as I can, but sometimes it's months until he's allowed to see me. edit: and btw, I'm taking HIM out for Christmas dinner, I try to do as much as I can to still see him. Then every time you see your father you can remind him that he bought that for you and how you love it. In addition, you can send him greeting cards with a slight whiff of it on the envelope. There is nothing she can do about that, yet ... it will be a conscious and subconscious reminder of you. I hope your father's girlfriend gets her insecurities taken care of soon. Don't put yourself in a position where you get dissapointed when he ends up getting a $20 box of chocolates.
