I'm not really sure how this automatically stops any doom. Obviously the nature of the meeting is important. It's entirely possible that the Chinese will tell N.Korea one thing (i.e "We're right behind you") and then do the opposite.

wasnt a high ranking northkorean in China today for meetings? why going forth and back??

option 1: they are not getting along so well.
option 2: They detail planning the war.

probably going over to see eyewitness proof of their nuclear fusion technology and if so, support NK in the war in exchange for technology sharing.

infact that would be a good ploy for NK even if they pulled and elaborate hoax.
