In 1999, Matese and colleague Daniel Whitmire suggested the sun has a hidden companion that boots icy bodies from the Oort Cloud, a spherical haze of comets at the solar system’s fringes, into the inner solar system where we can see them. Rather than a malevolent death star, a smaller and more benign companion called Tyche (Nemesis’ good sister in Greek mythology) could send comets streaming from the Oort Cloud toward Earth Full Article: [link to www.wired.com] Orbit Diagram Tyche: [link to ssd.jpl.nasa.gov] |

Long story short I was outdoors somwhere nightime Looked up into the night sky and several of the planets in our system were in the sky extremeley close Jupiter, staurn were visible with the naked eye. Bigger than our moon. And I remember being awestrck, amazed, and then scared out of wits to the point where it woke me up. If this massive object whatever it may be came through this sytem, can you imagine the havoc it would wreak gravitationally? Something to keep an eye on and ponder. That thing is very slow moving. Even if it is visible you will only notice motion over long periods of observation. If it has been seen, nobody has recognized it for what it is yet, appearing as a very faint and distant star. |

How can any planet "hurl" anything toward Earth UNLESS IT IS INCOMING toward Earth? Also, if that planet, if there really is a planet, could hurl, why can't Jupiter? I will tell you why. Large planets absorb rock and ice, they don't "hurl" it. Jupiter is knows as "the Solar System's Sponge". If there is really something there, it is incoming, busting through meteor, rock, ice, etc . sending it toward Earth. Other option is that it is part of the Media blitz to try to make the sheep shit themselves. |

Other option is that it is part of the Media blitz to try to make the sheep shit themselves. this is from the article: The cosmic snowballs that form the hearts of comets generally hang out in the Oort Cloud until their orbits are nudged by some outside force. This push could come from one of three things, Matese said. The constant gravitational pull of the Milky Way’s disk can drag comets out of their icy homes and into the inner solar system. A passing star can shake comets loose from the Oort Cloud as it zips by. Or a large companion like Nemesis or Tyche can pull comets out of their comfort zones. "hurling" might be a bit strong, probably written to help grab the readers attention...or like you said "make the sheep shit themselves" Last Edited by Kashodi on 12/08/2010 10:05 PM |
