Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1174747 United States 11/30/2010 03:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | why would you need food stamps Quoting: Vision Thingsupport if you got a job?, isn't food stamps for people who do not have a job and need food to live?. No, in my state, Washington, you could earn up to 1147.00 a month and still be eligible for 43.00 a week in food stamps. And if you're not working you have to be actively looking for work to qualify. What if you don't earn anything?, they would tell you go get a job before we give you food stamps?, which in that case it wouldn't make that much sense going into that support program since you already working. I always thought the program was for people who didn't have a way to get money for food, not if you could buy food but need that money for other living expenses. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1174747 United States 11/30/2010 03:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | like any other govt. entitlement program what you get depends on race and gender. most govt. jobs go to minorities. the power they wield is devestating to white males. minorities are encouraged to live off the system we pay for. the joke will be on them when white people are the minority. we can only support so many. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1158174You're thinking is only hispanics and blacks in this program? they might be the majority in there but don't act like white families are not part of this, specially now in these struggling times expect more americans white to join the program. |

Supposedly now if you're a son or relative of a person in food stamp program then other things apply, unless you have a job( part time/full, it must be 20 hours atleast) you do not get food stamps support. Does that make any sense?, why would you need food stamps support if you got a job?, isn't food stamps for people who do not have a job and need food to live?. Maybe they want to make sure your not sitting at home collecting all sorts of checks from different agencies : unemployeement, disability, SS, welfare, etc. Someone working 20 hours a week at minimum cannot support a family very well. So they need help The mom is on SSI and she gets some food stamp support but she wanted to know why her son who is in school doesn't get any, that's when they told her he needed to have a job and go to school at the same time to receive support. She didn't understand why he needed a job, if he had a job he wouldn't be asking for food stamps, I think food stamps should be given to anybody who doesn't have a job NOT to those that have a job, they got money to buy food unlike a jobless person. When in college a person generally has loans that pay not only for school, but for living expenses... When you're getting a check for living expenses, you don't need food stamps... If you only get enough loan money to pay tuition, you might need a job to buy food, not having any loan money left over for living expenses, but, as is true of many part-time jobs, that job may not be enough to fully cover all living expenses, thus the need for food stamps while employed... This kid lives with mommy and off of her foodstamps... too bad, so sad... get a freakin' job, loser. |
