Food Stamps eligibility requires you HAVE A JOB, yes you read that right....

Supposedly now if you're a son or relative of a person in
food stamp program then other things apply,

atleast) you do not get food stamps support.

THIS is such bullshit!!

You DO NOT need a job. If you are not working, yes, you will be put in a work search program. But all of the staff within the Div of Labor know that there is a high % unemployment. They realize it probably is a fruitless endeavor, but the feds have not waived that requirement. We still have to engage them in a work search activity.

Maybe they want to make sure your not sitting at home collecting all sorts of checks from different agencies : unemployeement, disability, SS, welfare, etc.

Someone working 20 hours a week at minimum cannot support a family very well. So they need help



The mom is on SSI and she gets some food stamp support but

she wanted to know why her son who is in school doesn't

get any, that's when they told her he needed to have a job

and go to school at the same time to receive support.


She didn't understand why he needed a job, if he had a job

he wouldn't be asking for food stamps, I think food stamps

should be given to anybody who doesn't have a job NOT to

those that have a job, they got money to buy food unlike

a jobless person.

students are ineligible if they are receiving financial aid. This would also apply to unemployment. If you were on work study at school and lost that job. Since it's 'financial' aid from the govt, you cannot double dip.

Yeah next the looser is going to get his old lady pregnant and expect the tax payers to foot the bill. Exactly, I have food stamps, and they run you through a screener to see if you are eligible.

One thing they look for is if you live with anyone else who has food stamps, if you do they usually wont give you them, especially if its your mother...

If they took food stamps away from people who are unemployed there would be riots

Finding food is work, just a non-paying job.
