RAP MUSIC MADE ME KID DUMBER | |
2012gregg User ID: 933586 United States 12/02/2010 04:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Last Caress lyrics start out, "I got something to say. I killed your baby today. Doesn't matter much to me, as long as it's dead." Do I take this song literally? No. It has cool guitar riffs and a great flow of lyrics. Suicidal Tendencies' How Will I Laugh Tomorrow (when I can't even smile today) has the ammo, not only in the band's name, but in their song titles, to give a psychology student enough material for his or her main thesis. From a musical perspective, Rocky George is an incredible guitarist and the flow of the lyrics, once again, gives this song an amazingly symbiotic flow. Do I take this song literally? Hell no! Anyone that knows me can attest that I'm an optimist with a compassion for humanity. I've created over 150 videos on youtube that have positive messages. The type of music that one listens to doesn't determine the intelligence, social outcome or socioeconomic status for that individual. The character of the person will determine that, but while all music genres will have their stereotypical associations, it's up to the individual to discern how music affects or sways the psyche and personality of any given being. Simply stated, for most people, it's just "music". in5D: [link to www.in5d.com] Maya 2012: [link to www.maya12-21-2012.com] in5d YouTube Channel: [link to www.youtube.com] |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 510357Seriously, I think he's just trying to fit in but in doing so he actually did physiological damage to his brain because rap is so fucking stupid. I mean really, some of the lyrics are so fucking retarded you repeat to make sure someone really just said something incredibly inane with a shitload of emotion -- and that's how you're hooked -- now you're stuck with endless repetitions of bullshit...oh yeah my son's an idiot now...thanks multiculturalism! get him familiarised with non main stream media hip-hop, I actually reccomend bumping some of the real shit like for starters... tupaq? or immortal technique. Political rappers are what its all about. At least getting him thinking/ talkin about the array of topics on GLP to his friends will get his brain working. Rap can be an amazing tool if its brought from a certain perspective. |

I think they want to copy the rappers how they dress, all the things they say in the songs about smoking weed, ho's and whatever. A song is like a background to your life. Remember the music we listened to as teens? we smile when we hear it on the radio. Black music is meant to dumb down and keep them down. Without even knowing it, it only perpetuates black stereotypes. I for one don't let my 11 year old son listen to that. He does not even have an ipod to put that crap on there. He likes classic rock, various genres.I say if you are too embarrassed to listen to music in the same room as your 6 year old brother you have no business in listening to it. But then again he is probably following the crowd and wanting to fit in. Take hold of your kid now and make him realize he is not black. It is so silly to see white people bumping rap in their cars. Oh and blacks don't like it either, they see rap as their music and something we can't understand. |

Plenty of blacks, whites etc. Whites start listening to that but still don't blend in. THey look stupid as whites driving through town with that crap on going boom boom. I grew up listening to Easy-E, NWA, too short and all them back in the day. I ran the streets and that music was our soundtrack when we did drugs, stole cars, jumped people. Don't tell me I speculate about nothing I was probably listening to old school rap before you were even born yet. I know that there is a culture that is glorified in it and that is a fact. Now tell me otherwise. |

But I believe there is a difference between Real Rap (Hip Hop) and gangsta rap, they both appeal to different audiences and both have different lyrics doesn't mean that they are the same its like me saying what counts as rock on the radio now is the same as real Rock n Roll FAR TOO MUCH STEREOTYPING IN THIS THREAD |
