2011 - STEREO Planetary Transits | |
Reality420 Offer Upgrade User ID: 1181686 United States 12/02/2010 09:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good day. The following is a list of Planetary Transits through the field of view of the COR2 instruments on the two STEREO spacecraft for 2011. As such it emulates the Sungrazers website for the SOHO spacecraft. The STEREO site is now labelling the planets as they appear so this list will give you an early idea of when the next planet will appear in the images. As usual, the times are UT and are +/- a few hours. Mercury and Venus can transit in either inferior or superior conjunction. The inferior transit is dim compared to the superior transit. Mercury in paticular will be virtually invisible during a dim, inferior transit.
