Where is it?

Plasma is almost everywhere. At least ninety-nine percent of the known universe is, in fact, matter in its plasma state! The surface of the sun is plasma; not hot gas, which is quite a different thing.
Plasma in space consists entirely of ions and electrons, and is thus very energetic or 'hot'. Only when cooled does it form the matter to which we are familiar here on Earth: solids, liquids, and gases.

Because plasma remains electrically charged in space, it is influenced more by electromagnetic forces than gravity. In fact space, once considered mostly empty, has been found to be alive with plasma. Vast flows of charged particles have been discovered spanning hundreds-of-thousands of light years across interstellar space.

The most familiar examples of electrical plasmas here on earth are neon signs and lighting, television screens, and electrical arc welding machines. Fire and Lightning are also forms of Plasma.

Some behaviours and properties of Plasma

Plasma is an excellent conductor of electricity. Because of its free-flowing electrons its conductive properties far surpass those of copper and gold.

Due to its interaction with electromagnetism, plasmas display a complexity in structure far exceeding that of matter in gaseous, liquid, or solid states. It has a tendency to form into cellular and filamentary structures.

These structures derive from the fact that a charged particle flow (or current) produces a ring of magnetic fields around itself, 'pinching' plasma into multi-filamentary strands, as can be seen on both cosmic and more localised scales. The role of Plasma in The Universe

Plasma cosmology has gone beyond hypothesis and analysis. There are problems with part three, of course, experimentation on universal scales, but the fact is that plasmas are highly scalable, and super-computing capabilities have enabled us to model plasma behaviours on galactic scales ... utilising only a few simple formulae.
These models are consistent with reality. Big Bang cosmology, by contrast, fails to adequately account for the 'clumpiness' and filamentary structures that we observe.

Plasma cosmology does NOT rely on abstract mathematical modelling or an increasing array of exotic hypotheticals like Dark Matter and Dark Energy!

The solar surface ius widely believed to be a plasma, but this has yet to be proven with hard evidence (sampled from the true surface and observed in it's natural state on the sun).

Even then, we cannot see past the surface of the sun, so what lays inside is only guesswork, future people will look back on us and laugh, like we laugh at those people who thought it was like a giant campfire in the sky... as such it ran on wood.

So.. I don't buy that 99% of the universe is plasma... given our limited observation and extrapolation techniques.

At first blush, a listing of these transient events may not seem to warrant the term 'plasma mythology' as an embracing reference to a discipline that endeavours to study all of these phenomena. The principal reason for this is people's relative unfamiliarity with cosmic plasma. All stars and gaseous planets consist of plasma. Plasma is the common denominator in St. Elmo's fire, lightning, aurorae, ion plumes, flux transfer events, cometary tails, sunspots, solar flares, and some more contentious phenomena such as ball lightning and earthquake lights. A strong electromagnetic component, if not a direct correlation to geomagnetism, also appears to underlie aspects of the geological phenomena listed here:

• the laws of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), a subdiscipline of plasma physics, help to model tornadoes and tsunamis, magma and lava flow;
• electrophonic bolides are a class of meteors displaying strong electromagnetic properties;
• and meteorites, tektites, fulgurites, small spiralling fossils such as Ammonites, Belemnites, or Echinoderms, and prehistoric implements were in traditional societies typically confused with each other and interpreted as 'thunderstones', descended from the sky amid thunder and lightning.

In addition, optical phenomena such as the zodiacal light and crepuscular rays have no electromagnetic causes themselves, but are secondarily affected by the quantity and distribution of debris in the inner solar system, suggesting that increased cometary ‘dusting’ would enhance these effects as well as meteor showers significantly. The debris of which the interplanetary medium is formed forms a dusty plasma, responsive to changes in the solar wind and the magnetosphere.

Considering the dominance of electromagnetic forces in these phenomena, 'plasma mythology' is a convenient and justifiable umbrella term for this branch of the humanities. [link to www.mythopedia.info]

Anthony Peratt's work shows the high probability that there were plasma discharges in the atmosphere in ancient days. The ancient peoples put the sights they saw on rocks, in the form of 'art'.

The top left picture is a plasma discharge occurring in Peratt's lab. Peratt had matched up HUNDREDS of plasma discharge shapes to rock art...

So why has the snow and lightening been together? The pictures from Ireland had the purple colour,plus the lightening.Was the heat not enough to rain?

I thought we got the plasma because the air was directly from the pole and charged up and when it met land it was discharging but I was thinking the heat would have stopped the snow.I did not know how much heat the plasmas contained.There were photos on here of the event in Ireland yesterday.

Its ubiquitus not basic.Thats why we miss it.
