Lanky blonde Alexandra Steele was let go as on-air talent at The Weather Channel last month, joining a long list of "old timers" who have been given the boot in recent years. Rumor is legal action is pending over the dismissal. Anyone have any further info? Who do you think is next? I imagine Heather Tesch is up near the head of the list. Some hope Cantore will be let go also, but I imagine he will maintain his position at the channel appealing to all the female viewers and a "certain segment" of the male viewership.

I can't believe how much they have cut out comprehensive, excellent and intelligent weather reporting and education and substituted it with silliness and 60-second sound bites-YAWN. Just tonight I realized there were more of my favorite meteorologists missing...very few of the old lineup left - even more reason to never watch. They all seem to be under so much pressure - they don't appear to be enjoying themselve they way they used to... Local channels are now where I get my local weather (I detest "your local on the 8's") and CNN for the national perspective. I really miss the original show a lot. What a redundant waste of time this show is now.
